These fine men were Special Warfare Operators. That puts them in a UCMJ class that only pertains to Special Operations.
When the Army says No Man left behind, what they really mean is, no DEAD Americans will be left in a foreign land. Special Operators are flown in and left for months, years, in places all around the world. They are literally a Army of Operators inside a Army of Soldiers.
Contrary to popular media publications they were NOT left there to die. They were ordered there, and given all the tools a Special Operator is uniformly given, to DEFEND THEMSELVES. They subsequently were killed in the line of duty. The media paints a picture like Trump personally flew them there and pushed them off a plane to die savagely. While I hold no glory or respect for Trump, he is not to blame for the tragic loss of these fine men. Why they were there, and what interest they were serving is another subject.
When being sworn in, you are swearing to obey ALL ORDERS, of the Chief in Command....and the Constitution ...it is inherently contradicting at times.
Not for nothing I am an active duty soldier assigned to 2-14th Inf , 10th Mountain Division...Ft. Drum NY. In my three years here, I have never crossed the path of a Spec Ops. And they are here , big time. This base is the 2nd largest in the world, and is THE premiere facility for high elevation training and extreme cold weather training. 10th Mountain is home to the largest body of SO in the WORLD.
Lastly, I do not want to speak for them, but I would believe that these warriors did not want anyone to come for them, and also perish.
RIP Warriors
