Distillation ZHO

I recently started distilling on a 12 Liter. Have had great success. Did a run with activated carbon. Completely clear. My only question.... I cant clean the receiving flask properly without doing it with iso alcohol. I understand that iso has residual even when evaporated completely. So what can I use to clean everything with, because everything i produce is being sent to a lab.

i use a drop or two of dish soap, really hot water and a bottle brush
Thats what i have been using, wasnt sure if it was going to come back in the test results! thank you for the information.

Can anyone help with the chloroform? I have been doing liquid to liquid separation, with pentane to remove all polar compounds. But im still getting a little bit of red color in receiving flask? but to me it seems like its only when i heat it up? is there some kind of reaction to the cannabinoids with heat that im not aware of? I also loaded the flask with activated carbon with some Material that had already been passed once. So i would figure that all the color would be gone??

im very new to all this but i do know that when ive done a simple distillation to evap my etoh,it comes out much darker than when i have a vac hooked up.i dont use the vac because its junk and gets really hot when run for more than 10 minutes.its not a lab vac.
i use carbon as well, but its a pad in a buchner funnel i filter my extract/solvent through.if i dont use enough carbon,it is more red(the extract/solvent) due to the chlorophyll im assuming.thats the tricky part, using enough carbon to do its work without removing too much of your product.
im not sure if any of this has been useful or helpful not really knowing your methods, just sharing my experiences.gl

Yes somewhat helpful, thank you mate! That was one of the things i figured. My starting material was already passed one time. But still came out almost a dark red/amber. I was using a 10:1 ratio, So for every ten grams of distillate I was using 1 gram of carbon. But im sure that the more chlorophyll the more carbon I have to use!

BTW I have been using the CRV pro 8 by welch!! very reliable and crazy quiet. Pulls a deep vac in no time> I only usually get to 500 microns. But pulling cannabinoids hasnt been a problem at all. Its about a 5000$ investment though.

damn, that pump sounds nice! im looking for a used or refurbished on ebay lol.
the nice thing about making a carbon pad is that i can control how fast the distillate passes through the buchner.i use a sink aspirator and just feather the faucet knob to control the speed of the filtration(too slow and i lose product) quite amazing just how much vac those little aspirators can pull!

OK OK I am going to give it a try. I have 4 buchner funnels. I was going to try it via silica. and pull it through. Ill let you know how it goes!!

i make a DE pad to go under my carbon pad to prevent the carbon from dirtying up the buchner(mine is the glass frit,a bitch to clean!) i believe you can make a pad out of the silica in place of the DE,no?
