going to do a coco grow and i am looking for tips

title pretty mutch says it all im going 100 percent coco brand of coco is hygen one part cornucopia veg and same but the flowering one im looking for tips and things 2 avoid tips and tricks if u will my only experience is with soil im a chronic over waterer this is my 1st time phing and ppm ing nd sutch i figure keep it simple and follow the directions on the bottle so i dont think ill really need 2 check the ppms but ye iv got a humidity dome and jiffy pellets and a heating pad should i germinate in the jiffy pellets then transfer to the pot when roots start coming out of the jiffy or put straight into a pot once the seed sprouts how long should i wait till i feed thhere is directions for seedlings ie how manny mills but ye any tips hints and tricks would be mutch apreciated couldent really find any coco threads any advice would be very mutch appreciated thanks in advance

Literally thousands of coco growers.

With seeds pot in small pots with coco. Treat it like soil to start, wet dry periods. Don't use nutrients till the baby leaves start to yellow then follow schedule for seedlings and cut dose in half. Once roots are established you can pot up and start watering more frequently. I like to allow 10-20% run off, it helps prevent build up of salts. Plus it also draws in more oxygen to the roots when the run off exits the pot. I used to use full strength as recommended by nutrient charts but find 2/3rd is a good level for anything bigger than seedling, you can ramp it up once you know your strain.
I don't like to let plants sit in their own run off because some coco can have a very high EC run off, it depends on how well washed and buffered the coco is, that varies from bagged stuff to Dehydrated block.
Have a bottle of cal/mag at hand, it can lock up calcium but most coco specific nutrients contain less K and more Calcium, its good to have the bottle there should you need to use it. Some folks run it at 1ml per litre the whole grow. I only use it if I find I need it.

Its up to you how often you water with a good root zone, every other day - twice a day, whatever works for you.

thanks man so far im liking the idia of soil tho got a 20 liter i moxed up the nutrients last night so id read for when the seed pops and is ready i got the ph down to 6.1 and left it there lol still ill stick with it with the skunk 1 auto i got ill see but ye so far id rather just mix up a soil mix and use bio canna lol i think im defanetly gunna stay with soil mixing it say this brand im using is suitible for soil so ill probly use it as a foilyer feed

Sounds like fun, for my mother's I use soiless Promix HP in fabric pots with bottom feed trays. Works great lots of oxygen for roots and air pruned from fabric pots .. close as you can get to hydroponics and excellent results if flowering in this style of growing. It has a similar PH range as DWC does.

IME coco retains a lot of water, almost as much as soil, so I wouldn't recommend 100% coco unless possibly if your running airpots. Smartpots or containers I would recommend rocks or hydroton on the bottom and perlite or hydroton mixed throughout. Do a search on "chow mix."

for shits n giggles and to make it more fun interesting i wanna start of in a small pot like a solo cup or whatever if its kinda root bound im guessing it will be harder 2 keep every thing diled in and the more i have to ph and shit the better ill get at it i think i need 2 do a shit ton more readiing on coco grows and stuff i have a 20 liter bucket that ill be using 2 ph in nd stuff but idk i just wanna do a coco grow ill be keeping not and taking pics how many drops of ph down starting ph of water and shit any one has any good info tho on coco grows and ph ing and stuff id be really apreciative cheers

I use royal gold tupur, it's a coco mix. You can use it straight out of the bag. Ph every watering/feeding, and once the roots are 1 week old, in a solo cup, don't let them dry out. You can water multiple times a day & end up with a impressive harvest, from a cup! Not saying it's the best but if you wanted to experiment. Nutes are in every watering. Ph/ppm meters are cheap and will affect your yields, for the better!
Easy auto waterer:
A 18 gal tote with airstones and a 396 ecoplus pump into a https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004RUJ2OE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I made some halos out of 1/4" flexible water line, drilled 4 tiny holes & connected them to the manifold. Adjust the flow to get a little runoff, in one minute. Now plug your ecoplus into one of these, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004LP1FKY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Program as many feedings as needed. Catch your runoff in a tote & toss every day.

oky dokey i kinda hace no choice but tu follow thrue this time got five thcbombs in a paper towl im a little the hole ph thing seems kinda dounting to me but im gonna keep notes here my tap water when last cheked 7.2 ill be using a fife gallon buket 20 liters iv got a blue lab truncion ppm ec meter i think il be using ec im using hygen coco hygen onepart cornacopia hopefully tomorro thev poped im gunna put em in jiffys that ill soek in a week concentration of the solution im planing on using great white also my ph pen it defenetly seems to be acurate cuse i calibrate it using the solution but theres the error signal its barley been used and every time i think its stablised the reading ill move it and boom it wont settle will keep going up or down aybe its the oh of the vlume of water as ahole is difrent but once it ened up turning itself of before it wouod stabilize idk if i should get another ine cuse its says 7 straight way when i put it in the ph 7 fluid

i feel ya bro dident mean to sound like a cunt but he rubed me the wrong way like tjeres some complete assholse on this site but its like u can handle tjat but not some bad grahmer besides that right there was a nice draft of what i wanted to post i dont think that response was outta line but if jpsy dog was upset i happy to comunicate with him about it .....iv all ready read all i think iv read i dident wanna start another thread was gunna write down shit to do with the grow and if i have some kimd of def from ph or what not but mostly wanna write shit dow cuse o dont wanna forget but i dont wanna have the actual stuff written down on my pc u grow coco bro
