When to flush

So after reading most of the flushing posts I now understand that if I flush I'm going to have hermies with skimpy buds that have lost most of their flavor and potency. If I don't flush I'm going to have nasty black ash, buds that won't burn and my lungs will be fried.

Did I miss anything?
How many living organism's can you think of that are better unhealthy or deficient in something?
i have to disagree .. flushing changes the flavor profile and burn quality. it doesnt wash away everything, no but, what it does it make the plant use whatever is left over in the soil and youll end up with such a low ppm it will be flushed of most of the chemicals youve put into the plant. itll make the leaf yellow out or change color if it hasnt already and it wont be as harsh. ive harvest plants ive flushed properly and pplants i have not and i can tell the difference. even if i buy some off someome i can tell if it has been flushed or not. the ash alone will be light gray or white and if its not flushed itll be black
This white ash is what remains of the non-flammable minerals which were present in the plant to begin with. It's why people use biochar and wood ash in gardens.

Where does this shit come from? Over and over, the same thing.

Listen up. If you don't overfeed it, Including especially Silicon use in soil (Si makes for darker ash that's stronger). You won't have that problem.
Uncured sugars impart bad tastes and cause improper burning. Makes you cough and is harsh. PROPER DRY AND CURE!

NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING gets "flushed" in the real world! No food stuff and for sure. NO product used for smoking is ever "flushed"..... I smoke high end cigars. I've been on tours of the top tobacco plantations, curing facilities, and rolling houses. All over the globe. The real key to ash, burn and flavor..... Is all done by the dry and cure!

In the Dominican Republic, on a tobacco plantation, in the field with the head grower... I asked (decades ago) if or when they flush. The translator did his thing while the grower was looking at me. His face changed to a look of complete confusion.....He replied, "What ever for?"

I could go on and tell a longer version of what we talked about next but, WHY?
Flushing removes NOTHING from the plant!
Fade only moves what your trying to get rid of. Go right to where your intending to getting rid of it.
Both of them reduce overall quality and you can't reach potentials by doing it.

How about you study drying and curing, instead of wasting our time here with your old school myth's from logic that doesn't work!

i'm guessing its going to take not only a professional study, but high times reporting on that study, to kill the myth of flushing. most of these monkeys either won't or can't understand scientific information...but they trust high times, a magazine selling ad space, as their source of information
I have a buddy that's grown for about 10 years and when I told him I don't flush he looked at me like . I plan on brining him to the no flush side, but I'm worried it might cause problems between us. This flush crap is so ingrained, but yet it's just based on myth. He smoked my Bruce Banner and the first word out of his mouth was "tasty". I don't think he even came close to putting two and two together. In the back off his mind he's thinking if I can do that without flushing, what can he do with his methods.

you spend a lot of time trying to learn these guys about how plants work and they just ignore all your efforts. I am going to take a new approach,as should you. I am like a master fisherman, and when people ask what I am using for bait to catch all these fish, i say "Velveeta cheese" LOL. Just let them flush away, defoliate, overfeed, use AN. I'll just be over here catching all the big ones while you struggle with your Velveeta.

In a way you're right..... Been getting more and more tired of the def, dumb and blind. Then you have the chip on the shoulders folk....It goes on and on....
Attempting to put the Flushing genie back in the bottle is like trying to do that with toothpaste...

!
perhaps to varying degrees comparably to others but even you skip feedings at the end of cycle=fade

Where does it come from? It comes from this thread. That was my point. Everyone is jumping up and down about the Doom and Gloom shit you're going to have to smoke if you flush and they say don't flush or if you don't flush and they say do flush.

My point is, smoke whatever you like. Like whatever you smoke.

I think the point being made was that people are taking poor drying & curing results as result of not flushing -OR- having a placebo effect from actually flushing, when they really just dried and cured properly.
If you have black ash, crackling embers and harsh smoke that burns your throat and makes you cough -you likely need to bone up on your drying/curing practices.

3 days reduces nothing.....Only saves money on nutrients - by not using them. The soil content, carries it out - no loss, no harm, no fade!
I add time release weekly, skip the last 2 additions, and am told this is fading, even though I clearly see bits of fertilizer in the soil at finish. since I add water during those finishing some have said I'm flushing too.

in hydro Its a different story aye?
