A not exactly as safe alternative but easy option if you run a large amount is to keep the butane under boiling point which I believe is like 30 degrees the plant fats will eventually settle out if it undisturbed long enough.
We used to achieve it using a double boiler type setup but with dry ice in the bottom, usually during the winter as we were outside before a buddy got a unit with inline dewaxing a while back.
It's by no means safe, and not nearly as efficient but it will get about 85-90% of the solids out in about an hour. If you live in a secluded area this could be an option so long as you protect the pan from particulates falling in.
After about an hour there should be a thick layer that somewhat resembles cool bacon fat on the bottom of the pan, you just pour the butane off the top into the filter taking care to not pour out the other layer as it's kinda sludgey and hard to filter then evaporate the butane and purge as normal. We always added the white part back into our runs for edibles.
