Aphids on flowering plant

I made the mistake of having vegetable plants in my grow tent along side my weed plant.
2 days ago i removed all the other plants because they were covered in aphids and were looking ill. I inspected my weed plant which has at least another 7-10 day until harvest, and have started seeing aphids on the lower leaves. Not many but a few i have been able to detect.
I put a small layer of beach sand on the top of the soil a while back which completely cured a infestation of fungus gnats. Im thinking that may be keeping the aphids from taking hold.
Here are a few pics. The top of the plant looks funny because it wouldnt stop growing and I was forced to chop off the top portion to keep it from burning.
Should i just harvest now?

but not me

aphids are born pregnant and are forever dropping

once you kill the first bunch you then have to go back daily

to wipe out the days noobs

cold pressed neem oil is good for bugs and is organic does molds too

creating a bug defense routine is vital this time of year

I wouldn't chop that now it looks like it has quite a while to go, the hairs aren't receding they calyx aren't swollen and personally I'd think you'd see a lot more trichs that close to harvest.

To me it almost looks like your plant got revegged and flowered again almost, but i would put that closer to 20-25 days to harvest.

Botanigaurd, og biowar foliar, any sort of spray and root drench that uses Beauveria bassiana fungi should work. It was what worked best for me. I alternated that with neem/silica until like 3 weeks into flower then just the botanigard until the end as it's safe to use until the day of harvest.

If you're not opposed to using pesticides imidacloprid is a systemic that will protect them for around 30 days. It will stay in the plant for at least 45 days (or so I was told). I used it a week before flipping to flower once because of a pretty serious root aphid issue and it worked well. Was wary about doing it but couldn't afford to lose the crop.

I would say if the trichomes look mostly cloudy you should be safe to take it. The problem is that root aphids will flock to the open wounds and try to devour the exposed flesh.

The upside is that they have to go a long way to reach the buds if you do, the downside is that it will stress the plant and make the root aphids try a lot harder. If you do cut them be sure to cover the open wounds with tape/wax and be vigilant with treating for them. Some tanglefoot around the base of the stem would probably help too.

I grow veggies and flowers as well with no bugs. Did you bring in stuff from outside?

Yeah i had them growing outside before moving them inside. I also purchased soil from amazon and am not sure if the environment was optimal before it got to me. I had a fungus gnat issue that might have also been due to that.
Should i not transport plants from outdoors into an indoor space to keep this from happening?

Thanx a great deal for the insight. The tape or wax application is definitely something i will try. Had no idea aphids are attracted to exposed parts of the plant.

Adult aphids aren't hard to deal with for a couple of weeks. Spray them off with water or just brush them away now and continue through harvest. Lesson learned.

I wouldn't use neem in flower tho. Neem has a foul smell and will stay in the buds and will practically make them unsmokeable.

Yeah. If it looks like your 4 or 5 weeks away (it does) hit em with Imidacloprid. I suggest Bayer Fruit and Citrus with the lesser amount of Imid compared to the stronger Bayer Tree and Shrub. Alot of growers make a big deal out of stuff like Imidacloprid (its in flea medicine for cats) or pyrethrum but in reality...these aint shit as far as poison to the human body. Imid is a systemic though. Not a good idea to dish it out if your later in flower but if you know your strain?? At any rate..Imidacloprid will knock the FUCK outta some aphids. No joke. Ive never had root aphids but recently brought some nice preflowering ladies in mid summer from outside to flower indoors. And sure as shit they had the regular aphids. Looks like what you got. Bayer Fruit and Citrus knocked them fukers dead as dead one application. Its not a spray. Follow label instructions for container plants. Get em.

If yer bug problem (any bug) is really bad...chances are cold pressed neem oil aint gonna do it. Even if you follow through with repeat and consistent applications. It stinks to high heaven as well. Like rancid Chinese stir fry and asshole. That being said...its a great preventative in veg and leaf shine. Occasionally as part of an IPM spray. If you gat bugs bad...the concentrated part of neem (Azadiractin) is much more effective. Basically...if you got aphids really bad...neem oil aint gonna cut it. At least it didnt for me. It stinks to high hell on flowers. Needs a wetting agent or emulsifier like Yucca and shook really well.

In my recent experience...NO!!! I learned the hard way tbis season. Early in spring I noticed ants herding aphids on some scrub weeds in my back corner of my yard. (If you see black ants..good chance an aphid herd is nearby...ants herd them like cowboys to cattle for the sticky sweet shit the aphids secrete). Anyways..I made note of it and made sure to keep my outdoor planting away from this ok corral shit. Other side of the yard. Anyways..I took cuts from the big outdoor mamas mid season. Rooted them and took advantage of the rest of the season free outdoor veg light. Whelp...I completely forgot about the cattle driven herd of ants and aphids. Brought the vegging ladies into my expensive indoor controlled rooms to flower. Within a week I saw them. Thought it was scale at first. Nope. Frikin aphids. They got dealt with early though. And I pulled off a successful harvest.

Yeah I would never bring things inside from outside, I like my grow area clean and sterile. I take off my socks before I enter my tent and keep my entrances to the room and the house vacuumed. I start all my veggies, hot peppers and flowers from seed so I always start sterile.

I dunno, I avoid it past week 4, it mellows out after a few weeks of curing but unless I wash my buds I can usually taste it a little. I have a few friends that can as well, it definitely leaves a nutty flavor in my buds.

If I have crawling insects I'll spray my pots and wipe the stems to discourage them from climbing out of the soil

Guys im in serious trouble, i suspected a big colony of root aphids very late, 3rd week in flowering, i applied imidacloprid bayer soil drench 2ml per liter. Temperature is 20-22 c, humidity is 65% growing under LEDs, I'm noticing phytotoxicity of imida. I can't flush because plamts are already in stress. Guys ur help will be highly appreciated. Im newbie here

Your not getting phytotoxicity from 2 ml per liter of imid. That I can tell you with certainty. Its something else you did or didnt do.

I have mixed my regular nutrients as per schedule (advanced nutrients) with them too, what should i do now? I cannot flush, i may cause overwatering.
