Help me build 4 vertical strips for my tent

As I mentioned before. the difference is negligible. My last grow was under 4000k strips from clones to harvest and I am happy with the results. One strain of my grow (animal cookie) was the taller, stretchier type while the Platinum Blue dream was denser with closer node spacing. And fyi, the animal cookie out produced the denser pbd. Maybe the plants would have grown different with different spectrum of light, but I just cant imagine it being anything I would notice.

With that being said, I think if my tent was used solely for flowering, I would probably go with 3000k or possibly 2700k. NOT THAT I THINK IT WOULD MAKE MUCH DIFFERENCE! That is what I read is the best for flowering, but again, I am very happy with 4000k thru the entire grow.

thanks again.

3500K is probably what i will go with, so i can stay closer to the red spectrum.

if this works out well, i will build another F-Series Cloak for my 2nd 4x4 tent. with that build i could play with more of a mix of blue also.

any other opinions are definitely welcome

Dont forget that 'divider' lighting I predicted you will be building! lol.
My 48" side lights don't fit in my new tent so it's time to build some new fixtures. I just ordered a bunch more 21" strips. These projects just never seem to end. Good news tho, now I have a plenty of 48" strips for some over head lighting for my not-yet-purchased 2nd tent. Oh boy will my wife be excited to learn I am ready to expand. LOL

edit: I was actually considering hanging a couple strips right down the center of my plants, too, so the inner sides of the colas got fresh lighting. Maybe overkill, but maybe great.

yup, i will be hanging a 1" square piece of aluminum right in the middle of the tent, angled with the flat sides towards the corners. thats 200 watts right in the middle of 4 plants.:bigjoint: 50 w aimed at each plant from the center of the tent :hump:

Congrats to your decision!
3.500°k is great for flowering just a bit more blue which keeps your nodes even shorter.
For the central light in the middle (4 vertical strips, facing north, east, south, west) I would not recommend to use a squared tube. You will probably need a fan blowing cool air thru the tube. Such tubes cause heat accumulation when they are equipped with LEDs on all 4 sides..
Better use 4 c-channels and mount them to 2 small squared frames, one at the top and the other frame on the botten.
Much better air flow thru the strips and you avoid heat accumulation such as inside a closed tube.

The other day I was dreaming up an ultra slim 360 degree pillar fan right in the middle of my 2x3 tent with 4 plants around it, and then to connect it from below to the air inlet of my tent, as to have the fresh air come in right where it's needed.. And then have it start rotating passively as soon as enough air is flowing through......

What I see here is another great idea... Maybe drill some holes in between the ribs and feed it some air just because you can ;)

on another topic, this whole setup is going in a new tent soon. i set up the first 6 strips in my other 4x4 tent with plants 50 days into flower.

but over the next week or so i will move the whole f-series cloak into the new tent. 800watts of combined 3000K/3500K f-series strips.

i will start a new thread and feature a grow from four 12" plants through their flowering stage. its gonna be a bit a new experience for several reasons. i will be growing DWC, a medium i am quite familiar with. however, i will be growing four different strains(none of which i have grown before) and with this new light system.

right now unless something changes, i will be running a DJS Blueberry, an ECSD, a Platinum Banana OG and a HoneyBee.

in my HPS tent, i will be running bogglegum and holy grail kush.
