Moving.. could use some input

Due to situations in life me and my girlfriend are looking to move shortly and make some major payments on student loans. I’m a little nervous about leaving our current place for our “own”. Majority of our options are in the form of connected townhouses. I’m really anxious about it security and stealth.

Currently i grow in a 4:8:6.5 ft tent with two 6in Terra Bloom duct fans and a 600 wat MH/HPS light. I use homemade soil mixes that I was planning on leaving with my roommate. And to go more in the Aero direction. Due to lack of funding I decided to keep the set up and take it with me. My big concern is smell. I already have a large (can’t remember size) carbon filter attached to my out-line duct. But even through the tent sometimes you can smell some late flowering plants. Not to mention Lollipopping and harvesting cause huge smell issues for us now.

My plants have been random seeds from friends so no top line genetics. Does anyone have any idea of we’ll be safe with what I have for our situation?

P.S. Illegal in our state in terms of cultivation and recreational.

That's a big risk in my opinion. There will be people through here that do it, but unless you're the kind of person who seriously pays attention the the details,i'm of the opinion that buying pot is cheaper than paying a lawyer.

I'm with @droopy107 on this one. In a new rental you don't know your landlord so if he decides to an inspection right near the end of flowering you're hooped. Have to give you at least 24 hours notice so if you can tear it all down and clean up before he gets there then maybe.

Plus you have to have a way to vent outside and that will be hard to hide from view outside..

When looking for a place you could make a casual joke like, Good space for a grow tent. Might just go cold and show you the door but might light up a J and say, Cool. :)

What have you got to lose. Can't call the cops on you for a joke. If there are lots of rentals available you can try it on a bunch of prospective landlords and chances are you'll find a cool one. Might have to toss him a bag here and there to keep things going but WTF eh.

Good luck!

Alright I’ll def keep those thoughts with me as we progress to the next step. With the specific property we are going to is run by a completely online 3rd party rental company. Hopefully the lack of someone to do tours (automated calling and electronic key box) they won’t be invasive and leave us to our privacy.

I’ll make it a special notion to ask about regular inspections and what their routine check-up’s are for. And while it IS cheaper to buy weed sometimes it’s a rough ride for heavy smokers :(

some cities/townships/etc. have mandatory inspections yearly. largely to insure renters are victims of slumlords and its performed by government workers. Its 100% your decision but obviously not growing would be the safest option. if you do grow maybe scale way down. do you need a 4x8 tent? I would say small cabinet grow using hydro. hydro is easy to dump (not advocating dumping down the drain unless have to, but I can be a tree hugger) compact and produces fast growth. next would be pick your strain carefully there are strains that produce little to no scent, strain that stays small and maybe an auto so you can keep a perpetual harvest easily in one grow space. carbon filter the cabinet then filter the air in the room the cabinets in too. use low heat lights so you wont need as many noisy fans. also remember to scrub the air you dry in too.

I deliberately dump some of my used hydro nutes down the drain into my septic tank as the nutes are good for the bacteria in there for breaking down crap. Trees hate it when us dirty humans hug them ya know. ;)

maybe if you gave your trees the nutes they would like you more. lol.
Not enough nutes for the 4 acres of trees on my 7.5 acre patch. Tehy can fend for themselves except for the dozen fir trees we got from a friend's farm and planted a dozen years ago. They get some and getting big now. Rest are all poplars in their die-off cycle so the woods look like crap but lots of big sapling filling in now.

Trees are just stands for targets to sit in. :D
