630w DE - CMH?

Here's a question I have.. will 4 630s replace 4 1000w single ended hps ?

I have 3 rows of 4 1000w SE. Will 3 rows of 4 630s do the same if not better? Bout about if I added 5 630s in a row?

Even if cmh wasnt more efficient if it was only just as good. The spectrium alone would be a deciding factor

Heres a good question...how about a 600 watt single ended hps with a 315 watt cmh instead of a 1000 watt single ended hps??? Over a 4x4 or 5x5 area I wonder what would yield more and better quality product if all other factors being the same? In a bigger setup..saving a 100 watts would add up if the 2 lamps vs one got the same or better harvest.

How did your batch of 630w light fixtures do was there any failures in the batch or was everything ok with them?
only sold 6 so far. no returns yet. sold over 100 of our 315 and only 3 came back.

would have to assume it would be beter than a 1000w se as the total ppfd is higher. remember though if your running 50w per sq foot ( thats hps or its equivalent led or cmh) or more. thats 800+ per 4x4 than growth becomes limited by available co2. because of this the difference between say 1000w hps and 1200w hps (1000w de equivalent or 630 cmh) is little to none withought co2 enrichment edit... guessing the better spectrium will enhance flower quality

That's really good then, I have been into LEC/CMH for years now I first released the 630w - 2 x 315w full light fixture in January but now I am releasing the same light fixture as your 630w full fixture under my brand name Scrogline, they are on the long boat now.
Would you like to try out my other product the Scrogline pro for this tutorial I will give you them for free if you can pay shipping they work very well with these CMH/LEC Light fixtures I will be also be giving 4 x Scrogline pro products free with my 630w CMH/LEC Fixture as they work perfect together, Check google for the Scrogline pro or my brand Scrogline.....

Cheers!

anyone seen these? I know they are fresh off Alibaba which is fine by me as long as they perform. at least now I can get them from a seller in the US and be protected through ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/630W-Double-Ended-Ceramic-Metal-Halide-CMH-Complete-Light-Fixture-Kit/172996201693?var=471766360186&hash=item2847608cdd:m:mJd1Q-qJZhe42-Ab0uZ-OXA

also, if those are a bust, how many 315 cmh would do the trick in a 4x8? doing a SOG so penetration is not an issue, just spread
I would use 5 x 315w CMH fixtures with the Philips bulbs for high intensity or 3 x DE 630w CMH fixtures,

Check out Alpinstash on youtube he will run you through the 5 X 315w CMH Fixtures on his 4x8 tray.

Keep in mind this is alot of wasted light if you arnt running co2

there is a point that photosynthesis stopes being limited by the amount of light and instead restricted by the amount of co2 available remember photosynthesis requires both. in a 4x8 at about 1600w of hps all the abought 400ppm of co2 in the air is being used any more light added can not be used by the plant unless co2 is supplemented. if you are using cmh lighting its about 447w per 4x4 or about 900w per 4x8

with this in mind three 315s is perfect for the area all the available co2 is being utilized with little wasted light. if you add co2 to the area it is wasted because there arnt enough photons to process it. if you add more another 315 there isnt enough co2. if you are going to use more than 3 315s you must add co2 to use the extra light
1 630 cant cover the area, 2 630 is overkill if you cant seal the area and add co2.

Sorry try again. You don't know what your talking about. I can tell by your post. Your one of many on here that are like this. No offence. But you dont know what your saying. At all.

it takes 8 photons and 2 co2 molecules to split one water molecule. there is only abought 400 ppm of co2 in the air we breath. at 50w per sq foot of hps all the co2 is being used. if you do the math thats 800w in a 4x4. seeing that a hps lamp puts out 1.8-1.9 umole per watt per second and a cmh puts out 3.4 umole/watt/second some simple math tells us what that is in cmh watage.
x=800w
y=hps umole/watt (1.9)
z=cmh umole/watt (3.4)
x times y divided by z = 447
so 447w of cmh is the same as 800w hps
