Hello, I'd like to make a DIY microgrow cab.
BXEB-L0280Z-35E1000-C-B3
And here five questions, hoping in a your answer.
1)i do not understand if i must use an heatsink like i did with my COBs or if it just depend from courrent amount i will adopt (in that project not more than 35W)
On bridgelux datasheet they say "No separate heat sinking required",but samsung say yes....
Below nominal current (350ma) you don‘t need a hestsink, if you go upwards (700ma), it could be useful to get some heatsinks (alu c-channel, or a thin alu sheet).
2)I'd like to run four or five(dimmable) strips, would it be the same wiring in series VS parallel?
in the second case what about MW HLG-60H-24A, seems right but i can't find one more efficient.
If you don‘t need more than 35w, the driver would be over rated. HLG-40H-20A is already more than enough for your project. And no, series and parallel wiring would be different, with this drivers you should go parallel. That‘s more work to wire, but it‘s more safe (20V instead of 120V). You can do a combination of series and parallel wiring, and use a more efficient driver: HLG-40H-42A (0,5% more efficient)
3)do you know, if any, the differences between MeanWell Taiwan and MeanWell USA?
I don‘t know.
4)which are the differences between samsung like that SI-B8U05128HUS and bridgelux? bridgelux stripes mount samsung smd, am I wrong?
Samsung uses more efficient diods than Bridgelux. Bridgelux is using their own diods. Samsung 180-200lm/w, Bridgelux (gen2) 170-190lm/w
5)does 3500K case lots of streach (space wpuld be tiny)or could it be fine as "all in one" cab? Or should be better to use 3000K for bloom and 5000 or 6500k for veg?
Gen2 just came out (https://www.digikey.at/product-detail/de/bridgelux/BXEB-L0280Z-35E1000-C-B3/976-1736-ND/7907665) but only as 3500K and 5000K. I am height restricted and I prefer to mix them 1:1, or 2:1.
Sorry for my bad english and if my post could seem unpolite.
REGARDS AND HAPPY 2018!!
