How many of these lamps? And will these lamps work?

I am planning to create a small room for growlings, some of the veg time for a quite large grow.

In my main veg / flower room Ive already ordered 6 x 600 HPS lamps and a full kit with that

However I want to start somewhere else and move them later in main room

For this Im planning
X-type-P Luxo 2x54W+1x28W T5
Simple google search will give the specs, I was not allowed to direct link it due lack of likes


How many of these do you guys think I would need to be able to supply my main grow room with seedlings and prepear the plants a bit in veg before placing them there?

I apologize for my ignorance but I am unable to find specifics on your light, but with the provided wattage I think I can put in my 2 cents.

Finances aside they have a 2 ft t5 light with 16 bulbs at about 400w. This will cover a 2x2-2.5x2.5ft area perfectly and you could probably get away with using only 4 of those to prepare for that grow room. 1600w in veg to 3600w in flower is a good conversion IMO

What size room are you looking at?
What length of time do you plan on using the room for?
Are seedlings in the mix with the vegging plants?
(Instead of juggling canopy height as a result of age difference, i recommend having lights setup in stages synonymous with the plant's stages)

I can fit 8 plants in 7 gallon pots under a 4' 8 bulb t5 for the 30 days or so of veg that I usually give them after transplanting clones from their first 4" pots and the week or two of veg growth they get there. How big they'll end up in your first early veg space will decide if that's enough light or not so it's hard say from what you said. I will add that you'll definitely want to be cloning and not starting seeds for every cycle in a perpetual garden.

The room itself is pretty big. I am placing a 3 meter x 3 meter ( i think 10 ft / 10ft or so) for the flower tent with 6 x 600 hps lights.
I am thinking of making a smaller tent about half of the other tents dimensions to make into a vegetative room but I am low on funds, and can only put in 6-700 euroes at max in the veg / seedling room.
So from what I understand half wattage is good for the veg room? Any lamps you could recommend on amazon or on any other sites that sell suitable lamps for a price i can afford?
If not, I might just have them grow from seed to bud under the hps, wich i know is not optimal.

I have thought about cloning, do you think I need to put time learning that now or is that after a first cycle I can put time into learning it and actually practicing it for next harvest?

You also mentioned that I will notice if the lights not enough in my first veg room. If that were the case can I just ship them over to the HPS room or will they be deficient and weaker because of the "poor" start.

You can even just start with a few 4' t8 shop lights. Look around on craigslist for deals. When i first started we were using 8' t12 fixtures and getting good vegetative growth. You definitely want to at least start your early veg with cool (bluer) light. Seedlings stretch horribly under red light and cuttings won't even root right if at all.

As far as cloning I'd start practicing at it as soon as possible. Especially if you can start working on the skill before you need to count on it working every time.

I can show what it did with 3 plants in 15 inch wide pots. I'm sure it will veg quite a few with a couple of them.

We will probably go with SOG of some sort, having 25-30 plants total. Thinking I veg them for about 3 weeks maximum and then into flower.

That would work with an up pot at flower. I have vegged 15 or so in one gallon grow bags for a few weeks under just the one.

They make another model where the bulbs are spaced out more instead of double stacked.

Thank you, those look great indeed. DO you think having those 10 cm (4 inches) away from the soil upon planting is to close or should i wait a bit til they get further up and make some leafs ?

I always keep t5's within a few inches of new growth on everything from seedlings that only just came out of the ground to plants that are about to go into flowering.
