Making triple tops when topping

I was an arborist for well over 20 years and ive trimmed/reduced 1000s of bradford pears. So when i started growing, playing with LST and topping. its always reminded me of trimming bradfords. You make a lot of lateral cuts and its basically growth manipulation. I started cutting my tops instead of plucking them. Then i thought back to the bradfords and how if you cut into the next lateral some times not only did the lead start to grow but it set off a secondary lead that shouldnt develope for some time to come. So i started cutting into my nodes at different angles and writing it down. 4 tops on one. 3 tops and in some cases 2 or it did nothing but slow the growth process without damaging the top at all. I never could repeat the quad top and i tried several times but triple topping i started hitting 2 out 3 times. Im adding some pics but being under the hps its blurred from the yellow tint in the pics. I ll update the pics when my veg box is done and i top again under softer lights with a clearer view of where i cut. If youre interested in trying stuff like this, play around with it. You cant mess up too bad cause you can always cut the top back to the last set of laterals and produce 2 tops. With that being said i usually wait until my plants are atleast 6 nodes high before topping or clipping.

Awsome

Be cool to do it on the 3rd node to get a triple mainline. :)

Im interested in how you did it

Im no artist but you ll get the idea. When you fold the small leaves down and the growth bud is exposed clip it straight across right where the new leaves are starting to seperate. Like i said im 2 out of 3 on this but you cant mess up too bad
