as to the original point of this thread....i do feel a lot of the time that women are using the current sweeping trend of accusing people who have molested them in the past to get even with men they don't like.
it's not alright to molest anyone, anywhere, ever. if they tell you no, then that means no, move along.
but coming out after 5, 10, even 20 years?....most of the time with little to no proof of the allegations they are making, is asking a little much. If someone harasses you, say something about it then.....if it takes you ten years to work up the nerve to say anything, you have other issues to deal with, first.
i do not support anyone, men or women, using their position to force other people to do anything they don't want to do (outside of the work they were hired to do). but waiting years to report it makes it a lot harder to a., investigate the alleged situation, b., take the whole situation seriously c., make sure the harasser gets the punishment they deserve.
i understand fearing retribution, but you either have to stand up for yourself in the face of that fear, or forget bringing it up in 20 years....

I'm nobody's keeper. Schuylaar and I disagree on many things but I like her sense of humor and directness. She probably knows more about Obamacare than any other person I've ever met and taught me some good stuff about it. So thank you for allowing me to make up my own mind, so kind of you. Based on who is making the accusations, I'll go with schuylaar.

i'm not trying to say that everyone is strong, and that they should all be able to say something right at the time it happened....but i am saying it makes the whole process a lot easier, and makes it a lot more likely that the person will get whats coming to them...and that people will take you seriously....even being aware of the psychological element..its a lot harder to take someone seriously when they tell you about a horiffic incident, then tell you it happened ten years ago.....well, why the fuck didn't you say something ten years ago?

I'll try not to focus on the abuse of ellipsis but we're not talking about the legal aspect or statute of limitations. If an abuser has already used his position and influence to get away with it, then they aren't speaking up just in hopes of him catching a case. They are speaking up to empower others to speak up too and to raise awareness about an abuser in a position of power.

There's no statute of limitations on that. Trump absolutely should be known and go down in history as the abuser and sociopath he is and always has been.
