Help! Mold growing on bottom of pots

Hey,

Iv just started a new grow in a 12 pot IWS flood and drain.

The plants are only in the system 3 days (2weeks old) I took some of the pots out of the buckets today and noticed some light white mold growing out through the holes. Iv never seen this before. What can I do? I’ve tried to remove as much as possible. Iv searched online and all the advice says to keep them in a well circulated area with low humidity and direct light. I can’t do that with this system, it’s desgined to keep small amounts of water at the bottom of the bucket to keep the roots moist. How do I prevent mold from growing in this sort of environment ? No lights gets in and no air moving. It’s the perfect place for mold. Help!!

Are you using any kind of amendment in the nutes? I'll see things like this in my netlids, I think that it may just be beneficial organisms.

I’m just using the AN coco base and Voodoo juice. Iv ran the system with hydrogen peroxide so hopefully all those beneficial microbes and organisms come back. I had a scare on my last run with mold on the buds so I didnt want to take any chance. I will know the next time

Ok guys, so I need some more advice and I will wait to hear from you before I make any decisions this time.

Have some white mold forming on the top layer of the coco. The humidity is averaging 55%. I can take off a layer and put down some fresh coco but I’d assume the same thing will happen as the top layer gets wet and then sits out in high humidity. Here are some pics anyway so you can let me know what you think

use substrate that is not going to decompose maybe?

like hydroton instead of coco
Yeah I was thinking of getting hydroton. The main part of the medium is hydroton / coco mix I just ran out when I was potting them so I used some normal coco to cover the tops. That’s what seems to be growing the mold. I’ll be flipping next week so I want to make sure there are no spores than can get air born.

There’s some green moss growing too

I asked about mold originally and was told it’s beneficial. So I wanted to check here before I went ahead and started pulling stuff out.

Sorry I may have missed something. What was the issue? Coco in a flood and drain bucket? Im going to remove what coco I can from the top layer and throw down some hydroton. Hopefully this will be the last of the mold
