Not a food plant but useful nonetheless. Aloe Vera , I use it as a cloning gel. I have friends who use it on skin too. It's also quite easy to grow.

aloe is great my wife has had 2 plants for 9 year's. I use it all summer. it's great on sunburns. best if you clip it and stick it in the fridge for a few hours.
