How are reno nutes in hydro?

Do they dissolve well?
Do they stain the roots?
Are there PH fluctuations?

This is my first run with remo nutes. Prior to this I was a general hydro user. I didn't have bad results with gen hydro. I was convinced to try remo on the premise it is a marijuana specific feeding schedule. I have been very happy so far. My observations have been faster growth/development and generally happier plants. Now I must admit sometimes that can happen any time you change something because you tend to be much more deliberate with your techniques being careful you don't screw anything up with the new formula. I also changed my lighting setup a bit which has definitely shown results in much denser buds and trichome development.

As for the nutrients....they mix pretty well. The micro and astroflower both need to be shaken before measuring out as those two tend to seperate out in their bottles. The grow, bloom, and manifical are all very consistent. I don't use the kelp formula. I still use gen hydros hydroguard and floralicious plus. I mix 20 gallon batches at a time and they hold ph very well. As far as root stain I do get a bit but I believe it is from the floralicious plus as that is a very dark syrupy nute.

All in all I have been very happy with my mix of remo nutes, adding side lighting, and this runs topping and defoliation methods. I will definitely build on these practices on future grows.

Don't get discouraged. There is nothing I do that is anything extraordinary. I have had my share of less then good results over the years. Genetics play a big part. I have grown other blue mystic in the past that weren't like these at all. I am fortunate to have a friend who has these genetics and allows me to get clones from him. After genetics you just have to keep it simple. Proper lighting, proper water (ph and TDS) and a well balanced feeding schedule appropriate for whatever phase the plants are in. After that just keep on top of things and try and give them a good environment as far as temperature, humidity, and airflow.

Lastly I've found the answers to any questions I've had are here in these forums if you search and find the right people!

You have to be real careful on who you get info from in RIU or any growers blog 99 percent of the time it is incorrect or the information is incomplete,

I remember when I first got started growing and 10 different people telling me ten different things at a time.
I have heard it all on here, everything from guys giving advice not to flush to tearing all the fan leafs off of the plant,
The bad thing is I tried about everyone of these suggestions to find out the guy giving the advice doesn't know anymore than I did at the time.
I got pretty good at around 2 pounds a 600 watt lamp.
Then I ran intl a old boy from new York, absolute bad ass grower, frequently around 3 grams a watt.
There is the guy I paid attention to and one of the few guys that has a total passion for growing like I do.
He is a better grower then I am. But I am a better mechanic then he is..
I almost went into business with him but had to much on my plate at the time.
I kick myself all the time for not throwing in with him. Or not being able to at that time.
Out of all the people I listened to I learned more about growing from this one guy then I ever read or seen in any of these forums. I know there are a few good growers I have seen on here , but not many.
One of them was my buddy Scooby .
He lived in Costa Rica and got killed in a car wreck down there.
Bummer, a really good dude and top notch grower. Maybe you knew him from back in the day?

A few shots from this afternoon, day 46 flower. Lights were on so some of the pictures are a little yellowed out. Calyx's are really swelling. About 50% brown stigma's and 20% trichomes turning cloudy. We will see how it progresses but it's looking like a 56-60 day harvest based on where it is at compared to previous harvests...but time will tell.

I don't specifically remember scooby. I spent most my time 10 years ago reading and not interacting. I was new to growing back then an intimidated by the knowledge. It does seem a bit different crowd nowadays....but now that I'm older I feel that way simply walking outside....lol

What is the difference in N rating of these nutrients compared to the other nutrients you were using?

In veg there was slightly more N in these nutrients then in prior formulas. I thought I was feeding a very similar flower concentration as before until I realized I was supposed to have backed down the bloom and astroflower sooner. Because I missed that I was feeding more N then in the past. I now have those formulas backed down and just a small bit of N altogether. This bigger difference was these nutes had higher amounts of P and K then prior and I had very little issues with ph stability as compared to past runs. Much more even canopy also allowed for much more consistent light delivery. I thought they were looking close too. They look about a week further along then what they have looked in week 7 before. Just watching trichomes to tell me when now.

Sorry for no updates recently. Been really busy. First three plants are cut, dried, and curing. Other three are now cut and drying. 15.5 ounces from the first three. The dry sift in the picture is just what fell threw screen I trimmed over....when I get time to work with the trim looks like there will be a fair amount of that too. Here are a couple pictures.....

It is about 4x5....two 600w hps. I did expirement with using t5 flouros as side lighting. I also only vegged until plants were 18 inches tall this time. Plants didn't stretch that much....finished at about 30 inches. Vegged clones for 30 days and flowered 58. My gram/watt wasn't that great....I'm estimating it at .7grams/watt. very happy with quality....buds are very dense with lots of trichomes. Very few underdeveloped buds. Smell is very strong sour blueberry. Too early to tell taste without cure. I did sample....very quick hitting initial euphoria followed by a pretty heavy chill feeling. Had a feeling of increased socialization. Music and tv viewing/listening pleasure enhanced as usual. The relaxed chill lasted a couple hours. No cottonmouth. Worst side effect was extreme munchies.

In summary....I don't think sidelighting helps yield. I would veg. an extra 7-10 days next time. I think that extra growth would translate into a little better yield. The 1200w hps may seem like overkill in a 4x5 but the buds were so much more dense then previous runs I wouldn't change that. I could probably expand to 5x6 with that lighting and do better too. My guess is 8 plants in 5x6 with same lighting and nutes with the extra 7-10 days veg. would be the perfect setup for what I'm doing.
