Male or female?

Looks like that one may be starting off as a male too, but I would give it a little more time to be sure. Give it another week to show to be sure.

Thanks for the reply! That’s what I’m thinking. Today was a bad day. Three of my healthiest looking plants turning out to be male :( but I will give it a few more days to see if Lady Luck is on my side.

Damn dude I feel for you. That's the thing about regular seeds you have to rely on luck. I was in the same boat recently popped 4 reg seeds and luckily got 3 females that were needed to get the ball rolling but it's the last time I get reg seeds for a small grow. Those pics look like males unfortunately the 1 plant I had looked exactly like that and I pulled it. If those sacs were pointy like a blade of grass I would say wait for sure but those look like round balls with clear male definitions on the sides. You don't have any other plants?

I started with 8 and one never made it, I pulled two males today and probably this other one now in the next few days. I had two show females but I had them In solo cups because I don’t have much space (I just transplanted then today in hopes of helping the yield). I have two more that haven’t showed sex yet, but they have been in in about half gallon pots, so they aren’t too big either. I guess I made the mistake of early on putting the best looking plants in the biggest pots and really nurturing them the most.

Yeah my plan is to clone hopefully one of the two that haven’t shown pre flowers yet. This is my first grow that looks to be making it to the end

Looks nowhere near showing sex and if your going by these first signs chances are your pulling plants way to early, this seems to happen a lot with newer growers and patience will lead you to not have to ask or at least get a definitive male or female answer from growers here.

Thanks I appreciate the advice, I’m just trying to get the males out ASAP. The two I pulled already were clearly males. One had clusters of little sacs and the other Little sacs starting with a little stem kind of. But yeah I’m letting this one devolop more. I’ll let you guys know how it turns out.

idk that looks clearly male to me because when looking at a female side by side that already has white hairs in the same stage of growth to one like in the pics it looks very different.

The females will adleast have pointy sacs if they don't have the hairs yet or very point ones like blades of grass.

The pics show very short and round balls with that growth on the sides of the ball. My females didn't have anything like that.

First preflowers can look like both sexes which is why it is a popular thread question with newer growers.

I disagree that anyone can tell sex from those two pictures and im not wrong, if you think its male thats cool but dont tell peeps to pull plants based on these first preflowers as many more are soon to come and a little patience will answer the question.

Everyone knows that it takes a while to get pollen so your cool till you start seeing yellow dust in places, there is no rush to pull males at such an early stage. You are fine to wait it out for a load more preflowers :-)

Going to have to agree here. When it's a female, there wont even be a question in your mind.

Side note she looks hella solid, green and happy!

Welcome to the grow world man.

Also, new to the forum. Checking out some grows before I throw my work up only on my 2nd grow but I have a lot of work into my one plant.

Green crack started on December 10th 17.

Fair enough but what makes me think it's a male is that growth on the sides of the ball and it's short round stature. My females didn't have anything like that but it could be a strain thing.

On many of these threads have i trolled, sometimes its male and sometimes its female, the times its female prove what i say about early preflowers and to wait it out till you get fully formed stuff that will get 100% of the members giving the same identification.

You see these things on fems and theres no chance its not female so you learn a third type of preflower which is neither but looks like both.

It could end up male but lets wait and see.

Nobody can tell you if that plant is a male or a female from that picture. Before pulling any male plants make sure actual balls are forming. You'll have plenty of time to identify them and remove them before they drop any pollen.
