Need help from experienced toppers

Hey guys this is only my second grow and I think I have a very good setup this time. I have uploaded some pics and I’m looking for advice on what to do with my plant. I don’t smoke so this is purely a yield type deal. It’s exactly 3 weeks old today. On my first grow I didn’t have any under growth like this. You can see in the pics how the lower nodes are growing exceptionally well. I guess my question is should I top this plant that’s growing like this at such a young age? If I don’t need to I’d rather not stress the plant. I plan on vegging for 3 months. As I said I don’t smoke so I’m going for the maximum yield possible. The next watering will be the first one with nutrients. Let me know what you think I should do

thanks for the replies guys. Yes I’m expecting a monster plant. I got a measly 8 grams my first time around under cfl’s. this time I have 2 800 watt led’s.

Wow Joint Monster. That was very informative. I marked it as a favourite in my browser.

I guess I will be topping although it almost breaks my heart to hurt her haha.

5 sets of leaves are full leaves right? Fans with 7 fingers is what I count on my plant. I only have 3 sets of those so far.

Top it. If you are only looking for yield then top it real low, like at the second node and mainline it. work from there, 3 months you will have a monster.
The first pair of branches on seedlings are always runts compared to the rest. I always remove them before they even have the chance to develope much.

I know plenty of people will say "but they'll catch up". I say why bother with something that has to "catch up"?

If this is only your second time around you should probably look I to how big a plant can get in three months and keep in my mind that most strains will roughly double in size when flowered.

If I were to veg a plant for three months indoors before flowering it might, maybe, just barely fit in a spare bedroom by itself but I would have to crawl around underneath it and there would only be somewhere between two feet and no feet between the top of the plant and the ceiling.

I’m sorry. I should’ve said my plan is to veg about 3 months indoors. By that time it will be summer and it’ll be going outside so space will not be an issue then.

Ok, that makes more sense. I suppose that might have been kind of obvious.

Well guys just an update. I did top it on Friday. I have uploaded a pic of the results just 2 days later. As you can see for yourselves the under growth has really taken off and I am happy with my decision. I have tied the top 4 fan leaves down to allow more light to the bottom. By the looks of things I’m gonna end up with 8 colas here already. Still no nutrients yet. I watered them Thursday night so I’m waiting for them to dry out before I give them anymore. Time will tell. It’s just a waiting game now for more lst I guess

Top at the 2nd true node, every time if its from seed.

Even if its not, I always top at the 2nd true node. This splits the hormones, and increases yield. Plus you only have to top one time. ;)

I did that and I did the 3rd node. Topping at the 2nd caused slower growth for me. I have one that's topped at the 2nd and it's bushy as hell, but I'm leaning toward 3rd node topping. If you top much higher, I think the lower stuff just gets wasted.

I would imagine there are some differences, between topping at the 2nd and 3rd, but probably nominal right? I've always topped at the 2nd node, once I found out the science in the plant behind it (splitting hormones evenly), versus just topping randomly at any given node way up there on the top (and you're right.. anything high up and you just waste the lower stuff). Ive never seen slower growth.. that is why I love topping at the 2nd node because it always seems to not stunt growth and once the hormones split out you get a really nicely spaced out plant. But again, I would imagine there are some differences.. :)

I tend to go for symmetrical things.. my OCD just cant help but get in the way. Like my current grow, trying to get a perfect circle going here:
