no dude, i took back what was mine, thats a mis statement. And plus the bastards wouldnt give me my personaly belongings, i was living in it at the time and hald every peice of clothing to my name in it, and the bastards wouldnt give me one item. That helped fuel my decision to take it.

Not yet registered, but had a bill of sale showing he was the owner, and the towing company was already hip to this. I think he has a legal foot to stand on if he can prove the possessions. He's even better off if he can prove that they already knew he was the actual owner and even MORE better off if he can prove that they didn't notice the person they allege as the registered owner. They must show proof of notice, at the very least.

First let me say towing companies are a pain to deal with. I have done business with one and am friendly with the owner so I could get out of some stuff. That being said they provide a crucial service, ever gone downtown and had some monkey tard block you in? I did, we had to wait 2 hours for the tow truck to get there. About the time it got hooked up the owner came out (bars were closing) sloppy drunk and tried to hit the driver. There driver was much bigger and hit the guy so hard I though I heard bones snapping.

Our friend here stole from a business, while what the tow company did might not have been right, what he did wasn't either. Like I said I chalk this one up to Karma, poke a big dog with a stick and you are liable to get bit.

Stuff like this is why cops think we are ALL criminals. After all everyone they bust stealing a car, shoplifting, breaking into homes has weed on them so we must all be bad.

Damn good find! If I had the internet back when I got arrested trying to get my damn boat back.. of course, I went to the see the Marshalls and they told me I was basically shit outta luck, they could charge whatever they liked however they liked. This had to be.. about 15 years ago.

I got arrested AFTER the boat was towed and did nothing like Mr. Micro did. I just got really fucking pissed off when they told me what the daily charges were (already different for the boat than a car, what the fuck? It was a 16' boat!) and that I was going to be charged that cost DOUBLE because they were charging me for both the boat and the trailer. The boat was on the trailer so it wasn't taking up any more space than a truck. After spending 45 minutes trying to reason with them about the charges I finally started to get really PISSED OFF. Especially because they kept throwing up roadblocks that increased the time the boat was in storage, which obviously allowed them to rack up all kinds of additional charges.

Next thing I know El Cajon P.D. is there, and next thing I know I'm being cuffed and put in the back of the cruiser. The arresting officer even told me that he knew that this particular company had that effect on people and he felt they were unscrupulous, but what could either of us do about that?

Huh. I missed the part where you broke in to the tow yard to try to get your shit back. That might put a damper on things. Seriously, the only grown-up course of action is to go to the courthouse and file a suit against them in small claims court. Get a copy of the police report, it should have some mention of the contents of the vehicle. Try to find receipts for the stuff in your car to prove the value. You can sure for up to $2500 in small claims court. This is the only way that you are going to win.

Cool, the legal facts really help. I just dont know if i can prove what i had in that car. All my freinds could say i was living it it though, and had all my close in it. I know i had my skateboard it it too. Shit idk what id do there. I dont keep receits, does anyone? ha. YEah idk what im going to do here. Fucking there shit up may be to risky, im not liking the thought of the fines. Though id jizz in pleasure, the findes would Probably be nice and high. Im not even as crazy about it today, i think i was just ragin on the initial discovery. Im going to talk to a court though.

Like i said, they knew they didnt send the warning to the reall owner, which they knew was me. I talked to them numerous times, like i said, about having someone come to the yard to look at it to buy. So thats blatantly clear. Plus obviously im in there records, they had to file a complaint for me for traspassing and theft, once again, proof they knew my name well.

When you loose all your personal cloths it pissis you off, its just fucked up shit. Period.

I keep ALL my receipts. They go into a shoebox that's marked with the year. I've got receipts going 10 years back. I'm anal retentive that way. Your friends can't help you much in this way, best you can hope for is a depreciated value, which can't be proven without receipts.
