Sure is, he wil just have to add another 60 watts of red to achieve a better light for flowering plants.315 > 400
Why is that? CMH spectrum is better than HPS.Sure is, he wil just have to add another 60 watts of red to achieve a better light for flowering plants.
Your right 400w ovea a 3x3 penitrates abought a foot. Good looken plants yes you can get close with a 400w but remember he has 5 ft to work with a low profile ac hood is still a foot high another foot to the plants. Just under a foot for the pots that leavea 3 feet for plants. Dooable but over veg even one week you in the lights. Like i said personaly i wouldnt do it probably not with a 315 either, i was implying it can be done. I just wouldnt do it. In a 5 ft high tent i would run led panel thats only a few inches high but thats just me.A 400 is not much good for over a 3x3 or 9 sq. ft. for flower a 400 just doesn't have the penetration to achieve flower density past 18". Want to see how close you can run a 400 hps with good ventilation.

Neither. 200w of COBs, QBs, or EB/F Strips.Flower with 600w LED (actual 276w draw) or 450w HPS?
LED is a viparspectra 600w
HPS is 450w with a batwing reflector
Cheers
whats the size of your grow room ?Flower with 600w LED (actual 276w draw) or 450w HPS?

HPS is 450w with a batwing reflector

Tent is 2x2x5whats the size of your grow room ?
if tent size is under 3ftx3ft then the LED should be fine but anything over that size you should look into more wattage .
It's a 2x2 tent. Are you really suggesting that he needs 150 watts/ sq ft?LED would be fine in that size (600w-1000w LED)
I have a 1000w led in a 4x4x7 and it does fine .
Probably only 100-150w total of current tech. 200w, even, if he wants to beast out a single plant. I missed that part. It's a 2x2 tent. Are you really suggesting that he needs 150 watts/ sq ft?
i believe he's asking what to use (LED or HPS) , not what to buy . duhNeither. 200w of COBs, QBs, or EB/F Strips.
My bad. I forgot that the op called his light a 600 when it's not. And you do the same thing.what im saying if you read correctly , is that 600w led is fine in a 2x2 .
i use 1000w led in a 4x4 and my shit beasts out every crop with a 25 day veg time .
Agreed. The problem is most noobs have no idea there led isnt what it claims on the box. Every day people come into the shop. Looken for another led. Just an hour ago a guy came in looken for another led to go with the one he already had... Said he wanted a 600w led he said he has a viperspectra. Tried to explane to him his viper was only abought 300w and on a good day it might replace a 400w. Fucken led company lies pshh..My bad. I forgot that the op called his light a 600 when it's not. And you do the same thing.
To clarify, his light is 276 watts. Even when using blurples, it's better to state the actual wattage of the fixture in order to avoid confusion. I thought you were suggesting the guy use 600 actual watts of LED.
maybe you should surf or search your own site before barking up someones tree buddy .It's a 2x2 tent. Are you really suggesting that he needs 150 watts/ sq ft?
A "300 watt" Vipar uses 136 watts, which is what I was trying to explain a few posts up.maybe you should surf or search your own site before barking up someones tree buddy .
