Advice please - 12v or 36v led drivers for diy cob build

Driver and lights arrived today. One happy grower !!

Should I buy 20mm double sided thermal sticky tape, or the full 40mm? It's for 50 metres, so I could easily double up, and save £6 if ok.

Or would you recommend a single 40mm tape, and just pay a little extra?

I spent under 100 on this. Maxs out at 435 wall watts. 36 12v 10 watt 3500k led chips.

Wow, if mine's half as good I'll be happy !! I've just flipped C99 x Blueberry a week ago.

Cheers diyled, can't wait to start building. Think I'll stick some mini heatsinks on the back of the aluminium u frame. They are 20x20mm and only cost £2 per 5. Surely they'll help to remove more heat.

Can paste the u channels side to side imagine putting 8, 2" together. That'd look pretty cool

I wouldnt bother really if you want to increase surface area you can put a smaller piece of u channel inside the bigger piece but its not needed.

40mm-50mm wide and 20-25mm high U profile is more than enough for the build.

Good luck with your build dude, If you have some minor question i can always answer a few, you will be addicted once you build your light.

i built this last week for a really small area.

I think I've stupidly snapped a clip over one of the terminals (see picture).

Please can anyone reassure me that I can use two of the 4 ports to connect the cables to ? There's con1, con2, con3, and con4. I assume I can use just IMG_4150.PNG one positive connector, and one negative connector.

Of course! All wiring examples of LEDgardener work. But if you use 4 stripes at 1.4A, you have to choose a driver that can deliver at least 192v(4x48v). That means you need an HLG-320H-C1400B with 4 DR strips(~270w). I would rather take the CV/CC version with 48v for parallel wiring. This way you can add more strips later and you could use a smaller driver like an HLG-240H-48A for around 250w or an HLG-150H-48A for 150w.
You can also hang more strips in series to a CC driver, you should only pay attention to the 300v limit of the on-board connectors. If you lie over it, you should solder them.
