for one reflectors dont fit with the y adapter..... for two you'd have to search high seas for some reflectors that big that'll fit the y sockets.. luckily i have a buddy of mine making me some custom reflectors that'll fit the y adapter on the hanging sockets with both 2 and 4 lights.
mylar is just as good as flat white paint! do your reading ive been doin this cfl thing for a while. some even argue that flat white is better than mylar because mylar creates heat spots.
oh no buddy i work at home depot got everything at a discount. the 42 watters were $4 apiece, the 26 watters were $1 apiece, the hanging sockets were $3 apiece, the splitters was $2 apiece, and the fans were $7 apiece,which gives us a total of $114 for a kick ass setup! please find me a 600w hps for $114 thats gonna give me such a good spectrum and keep my temps at 78 in a closet...cant find one huh? oh yea this is a cfl forum fUCK HID's
i did but i honestly prefer te bulbs over tubes. the bulbs can be meticulously positioned anywhere( for example look at those two culbs thats being actually held by a pot). i think t5's are awesome for cloning tho
before i introduced the 2-liter sog zero-veg i was mainly working with those black pots, i 'd usually veg for about a week or two under 200W of 6500k cfls. i'd usually yield anywhere from an ounce-2 ounces. in the beginning there were 16 plants and i'd set it up perpetually so i'd harvest 2 a week.....which was really awesome. im feed my girls big bud 0-2-4 and i add a tsp of superthrive to every gallon of water i use and i feed every other night jus before the lights go off!.....thanx for the positivity bro..
So you are using 648 watts producing so for every 23 watts you produce 1600 lumens, so you are putting out roughly 45,078 lumens. My 400watt HPS puts out 55,000 lumens. In order to match my lumen output then you need 143 more watts of cfl's. So you would need to use twice the amount of watts or 800 watts of cfl's to match my 400 watt HPS. Yeah cfl's might be cheaper initially but you end up paying more in electricity, so they really don't pay off in the longrun. I spent roughly twice as much on my light as you did with your cfl's but I pay half as much in electricity bills. Sorry to burst your bubble buddy but CFL's are really not worth the trouble!
No way. Get yourself a thermometer that can handle some intense heat, and measure the 400w HID bulb after it's had a chance to warm up. Do the same with a CFL. You could get 800w of CFL and wouldn't come close to generating nearly the BTUs that a 400w HID bulb does.
