Few cob questions please

I am considering buying 2 cob lights which are already made, so these parts cannot be changed. I don't understand much about the tech specs of cobs.

Wondering if somebody can help me please?

There are 2 lights.

Each light has 2 cobs on a bar, with 1 driver, which is HLG-240H-36A. Each bar is 180w, so 90w per cob.

CREE CXB3590 3250K 90 CRI.

Big heat sinks. Don't know which ones, but they're big.

Sound any good? Is 90w not too much for a cob?

For sure someone will help you that knows more then me, but I'm pretty sure based on things I've read on this site that 90 watts a cob is running them really hard. My 3590's run 50w a piece. Can you turn them down for better efficiency?

No, they are set at 90w each. I use Budmaster cobs, but they run at 50w. So 90w seems high to me.

I see a lot of those CXB3590's running at 50w a COB. I have not seen one at 90w before.

Vero29 gen7's I see a lot of premade lights shipping them at 100w a cob.

I ran CXB3070's at 50w each for the longest time and loved them. I would love to check the 3590's if I got the chance.

I have decided to take a safe bet and buy quantam boards.

Either way, if the driver has an A at the end (meanwell) it has a built in potentiameter and can be dimmed. If its a B at the end you can wire an external one. For future reference

I have a 2.5x4' growing space and have 2QB 288s and 2 lm-f564b. Strips in there atm. So your cob idea isn't bad dimmed down. But the 2 board s should work nice

I'm blessed with light and only grow in 3ft x 3ft tents... I'm armed to the teeth...

I have 2 x Budmaster cobx9. 9 x 50w osram cobs on each of those. 50w each. 450w per panel.

2 x Budmaster cob x6 osram cobs. 6 x 50w. 300w per panel

2 x Budmaster cob x6 horticultural cobs. 6 x 50w. 300w per panel.

Plus 4 other small budmaster panels, 3 blurples and 1 cob.

Bought this quantam board for my 8th 3ft x 3ft tent. Got 2 Cindy's going in a scrog, so wanted to try this light out.
