Trouble controlling temps from my 2-duct ac unit

Sup guys, I was having heat problems all summer'17 so I made sure I got me an ac unit for my 5x5 & 4x4 tents. Plus I was tired of using those air vents, you can just see the dust get sucked in the tent.

So the ac unit is outside the tents with ducting leading to both of them. Works great, i just can't seem to stabilize the thing. If I set the temperature, it will just go to that and keep going. I assume it's because the ac thermistat is outside the tent. But even if I find a way to tweak it, if it gets to the set temp, It just stops.. and thats my only intake so that makes me feel like there's no fresh air coming in.
Anybody had this problem? I be hitting brick walls every step off the way!

Are these units in a room? If so controlling the temp may be easier to cool the room first, then use your intake/exhaust to regulate your temps. Running the ac ducted into the tents with the Thermostat outside will not be able to reliably control the temp like you have already found out. The only other option I see is to individually cool each tent with either the unit inside the tent or to use a thermostatically controlled outlet with the probe into the tents.

Thanks bro, it's just one portable ac unit with 2 ducting blowing air in each tent. I don't have the space to put 1 inside each tent. Plus my electric bill will sky rocket.
If I cool the room, I'll have to open the vents. I was really trying to avoid the dust coming in. But I don't see any other way so thanks

I just use dust filters on all my ins and outs... problem solved
