One candle = 1/4 lb co2 per 12 hours

CO levels produced by the appliances will be reduced by the plant metabolism based on biomass and photosynthetic levels. It may not be of concern if venting externally; i.e. there is no leakage to habitation.
the CO doesn't hurt plants, so yeah you could run a completely air tight room and you'd get all the co2 and plants would be fine... Just don't go in that fuckin' room until it's 100% clean air, and it better be 100% sealed. Like actually air tight, not grow room air tight.

Yup! Just work when the input gasses are "off" and vented, or in the dark cycle with green light.

Yeah it's a simple equation as long as you accounted for 100% airlock. Difficult in a lot of site cuz you have to 1. be able to achieve 100% airlock, and 2. Be able to transition and get in and out... It'd be extra work for questionable gains with heightened risk. But doable.

Can we be somewhat real here? I post these pictures because what the hell are we talking about? These are designed to 1. light the candle 2. walk the fuck away... Do you guys really think the votif candles of america are being watched?! Seriously, what's the average time the average votif is watched?? It's a tea candle, have you ever been to a spa? We've had candles for 10k years. It's a desk waterfall, a candle in a cup of water or lantern. it's fine in your living room, what is this magical growroom threshold where it becomes C4? Zero sense. Ancestors would be ashamed, climbed out of the muck, harnessed fire, now you're pumping 1000 W and can't fathom a candle? What about your forefathers, just before electricity? What's cute on grandma's table is a gross hazard? If had to admit it, the truth is glaring, billions of candles and little water falls are sold each year and people aren't burning up. This was never meant to be some ode to candles, it wouldn't have to be if people weren't making mountains out of molehills. They are safe if you put any thought into it at all, designed to be safe, produce co2. Period.

Look man. Using candles is retarded. End of story. It's dangerous.

There are safer and more economical ways to make c02.
No reason not to make wine. It would be a healthy jolt of co2. Why not add a waterfall next to it. Or not. I got books in my rooms, little couch, have some lemonade or tea... I'm not getting all this either or thing, I'm really not. People can't do both? Or do both with a tank?Or no CO2? Or a bunny, or chickens, if that's the space they have and want to do?.. I do not get the hate. Mention a candle can burn 1/4 of co2, it's like a religious front. But all good, I know there is a lot of information in this thread I had to go to a lot of different places to gather, that wasn't in one place. Now, for someone else, who isn't looking to hate, a lot of it is it one place.
It's stupid. I don't know why you don't get that.

No hate or trolling. Burning unattended candles is stupid.

I am one of those people that has automatic fire extinguisher on my grow. I can't risk a house fire from an illegal grow.

So harp for a couple more days if you want. I'll still say using candles is a dumb idea.

WTF guys? Can we agree that combustion of candles is a viable option for the production of CO2 in a controlled environment? Don't you believe that given a flameproof containment enclosure, adequate O2, and reasonable alarming devices, the burning of candles will increase CO2 in the growth chamber without poisoning the plants or unduly polluting the environment? I mean, come on, given a semblance of safety, and considering the obscene expenditure of monies for the placation of the feminine appetites regarding pleasant aromas, plus all of the other risks associated with crop production, usage of candles generating CO2 ranks low on the list of risks/costs associated with the cultivation of cannabis, right? I believe that if precautions are taken, a few candles will contribute to the biomass of a crop without undue risks incurred. If a farmer has the wisdom and knowledge to see a crop to completion, that farmer is most likely able to burn a candle safely.
Just my thoughts,

No. We can't. It's retarded. What do you not get about that?

It's an unnecessary risk. I don't take those when it comes to growing. Period.

Maybe you are willing to. Some of us are not so we won't even entertain the idea. It's an accident waiting to happen.

I won't even allow candles in my house, even if they're attended. I have a friend who burned his house down and all his pets died because he fell asleep with the candles lit. Birthday candles are okay as long as they're blown out immediately, but not candles meant to burn for an extended period.

This is the year 2018. Stock up on AA batteries for when power goes out. Candles went obsolete a LONG time ago.

Not to mention the environmental sabotage that is proposed. A 3oz candle? 8 week strain, 168 oz or 10.5lbs, shipped to your door? Or do you drive your prius 59 miles round trip to pick up in bulk at the sporting goods store. Or a 75 dollar fountain shipped from china? WTF are you even talking about? I inferred you rape children and should go to prison @Piratemccall .

If you got soot, you got soot, I don't know what to say other than the world is a big place, every garden is it's own snowflake. A lot of assumptions, x, y, and z. I mean, specifically, I got 10 x 10 rooms, I got a heater, a humidifier, a dehumidifier on the plants. I got an exhaust that hardly ever kicks on because climate is temperate, an ambient fan, 72-78 degrees, 60-65%H. I put some candles in water on a metal perch, they burn, no big whoop, no soot. I don't know man. Different strokes. I'm starting to thing maybe I was just raised around more candles than other people? Honestly. I don't get it, lit candles all my life, bought a half dozen fountains, they break but still cool. Maybe they are some old tyme relic. I'm a fan of Smokey the Bear too, but I honestly never knew candles needed such a defense. I post the pictures cuz seriously, what are we talking about? It seems the backlash could be summed:"we can think of only ways it will not work. We can not imagine a way it could work. Thinking it could work is stupid, I hope you burn your house down" I mean, that's an easy game. Put the candles under the plants. lean a candle against the wall of a grow tent. Water with kerosene...
you're something else man. claim victory, only an idiot would argue here.

I should have titled this thread Pearls Before Swine.. At least I invented the world's largest roach trap! Y'all are going to be drafting anti- candle legislation if I check back in a week or two.

Yea. Roach trap.

This coming from the guy that claims a 148 iq and his best idea is to burn unattended candles in a grow.

I got an idea. Make sure to save money on a tent or room and use cardboard boxes to grow in while you burn your candles.

Why you so hung up on this? You thought it to be a good idea and plenty think it's a stupid and dangerous idea.

You're retarded for thinking a candle in a room with plants is reactive. You're obtuse. It's not even about the weed, you just want to throw hyperbole about the dangers of candles. You're a jack ass.

Yea. I'm the jack ass.

Sorry you high iq couldn't come up with anything better than candles.

I said earlier that it's an unnecessary risk and I don't take those with growing.

You might. Enjoy the risk of fire or being busted for taking risk.

Dumbass.

You are a dumb fuck. This is a desk waterfall. I've owned 5-6 in my life in the last 20 years. In living rooms, bedrooms, grow rooms. Just like millions of other people, how many of these things are sold each year? You're dumb. The only scenario in which you would be validated would be if I burned my house down. But you KNOW, like the millions of other people in America who use one every day, I wont. They wont. You're talking to hear yourself. So yeah, I win 100%, because just like every other day of my life, I have not burned my house down. And all the other millions of people chillin' with a fountain who manage to enjoy the without perishing. The only time you are "right" is when someone burns their house down with these things. Good luck with that. You're a fuckin' idiot.

You are so caustically simplistic. " Mmm.. grow room.. fire.. burn down house.. fire bad... grow room good...no fire! no fire!" You can't abstract the world. Fuck man, I'm sorry. The essential inputs in whatever the hell it is you're arguing is: 1. Plant 2. Candle ... Those are the only required components.... you have the REST OF THE KNOWN UNIVERSE to modify the equation... and ALL you can come up with is "Grow room good, fire bad." Sad sack.

Haha! Yes, person. You are humorously dumb as a rock, encapsulated in this drivel. I describe how you have just the bare minimum of brain cells it requires to grunt "fire bad, grow room good." And your answer is literally
1. " Yea. You want to use candles in a grow room." .. spitting out that same, one programmed response you have, your crutch, the only thing that proves you speak english
2. "And I'm the dumb one." - Summing up the entire thing with eloquence and truth you have not shown thus far.
3. " Again. Sorry your high iq couldn't think of anything better." Again with the IQ insecurities, and, by highlighting that I just called you a one trick pony, and your response is that trick. You are not even an idiot. You are the caricature of an idiot
