Ready to harvest?

Another week or 2, Try and invest in something to look at the trichs. this will ensure your harvesting at the correct time. The hairs turning brown/red/orange are a good indicator of maturity but do not really tell you when it is peak time to harvest. jewellers loup or usb microscope from ebay are even better.

Hairs are a dead giveaway. 2 more weeks at least, more likely 3. Hairs will darken and appear to recede as the buds swell.

As posted numerous times before. There is no better investment than one of those $11 jewellers loops off from eBay. Reading the tricks is the way to go.

You want to look at the trichomes. The ones that look similar in shape to a mushroom. Look on the sugar leafs and around bud sites.
At this point the majority of them will be clear. As they mature and get more potent they turn cloudy and then amber. People have different harvest points they prefer. Mostly cloudy with 10 or 20% amber is what i shoot for and as the percentage of amber goes up you move toward more of a mellow body buzz.
It's impossible to get 100% cloudy or 100% amber. If you see trichs starting to turn dark grey or black the window is closing and you need to chop it.

You would use it to magnify the buds or leafs so you can see the condition of the trichomes. these look like tiny lollipops or little balls on a stick like thing.. you want a much milky as possible and as few clear as possible..
Milky trichs are what we are after.. clear trichs are new and need time to mature and amber trichs are thc degrading and not desirable. see bellow for a pic of mine upclose using my android phone and cheap ebay usb miroscope IMG-20180506-WA0015.jpg

I dont use the camera on the phone but a plug in usb microscope.. doesn't work with iphone but you can buy clip on microscopes for the iphone not sure how good they are??? or you could just buy the jewellers loop (eye magnifier or eye glass)..

Happy Growing
