xtsho give the best advice. Not only is the ppm too high, but one thing people don't realize is you can't keep feeding and feeding in soil because the nutrients get trapped in the potting soil. Not only do you need to be careful how much you feed but also how often. Testing runoff is a waste of time. If you feel like you need to test runoff, then you probably screwed things up. Just grow them out and don't make the same mistake next time. Making your own super soil is a better idea. You want to mix in the granular ferts like the ones sold by Down to Earth, following a known recipe for how much to use per gallon or bag of soil, and throw in some bacteria product like the ones sold by Buildasoil. Google it.

No need to flush. Just feed straight water with slight runoff. Let dry out and do again. You're in soil. Leave it alone and let the plants grow. Flushing, adding this, adding that, etc... will just make things worse and is a waste of time. Grow those girls out, move on, and don't do the same thing next time.
Any ppm reading you get from runoff is meaningless and a waste of time so don't even bother with that nonsense.
Plain Water.

this is horrible advice, no one listen to this, flushing when you have a problem with the 1/2 you regular nute strength and correct ph can help you fix problems fast and also run off ppm is usefull. i can imagine growing without. if you put in 700 ppm and get back 2000 you know theres something wrong and thats why its good to have.

Growing for thirty years and have never flushed once. I'll put my grows up against yours any day. Awhile back I said I wasn't going to waste my time in this section because I'm tired of reading all the nonsense. Unfortunately I was still watching this thread and got an alert. You are free to continue drowning your plants after you dump a bunch of junk on them and you have problems. I suggest you start buying CalMag by the fifty gallon drum and just start flushing your plants with that since guys like you think it's a cure all for problems caused by the grower and their over fertilization issues.

I don't care if anyone listens to me or not. I'm not here to educate anyone. I'm sure if everyone follows your advice they'll have the best grow ever. How are those brown streaks and circles on your leaves turning out Mr Expert Grower. You messed up your plants and now you want to give advice?

Agreed.
Reading runoff in soil is unnecessary, and most of the time misleading.

If someone insists on reading waste. Why go by ppm? I mean, parts per million of what??? What is the "stuff" coming out the bottom in the waste?
If you use ec, it indicates salt content.
But even still. It isnt a true read of your soil. Soil ISN'T inert. It isnt hydo.
Ph of the waste is by no means accurate either.
