DIY with Quantum Boards

Nah not saying its better really, just not how id do it based on my own research. 2 260w kits is almost $100 cheaper than a 600w kit and gives you the ability to spread them out more so height shouldnt be as much of an issue. Im doing 8x single boards on their own heatsink spaced out.
I have a difficult time just trusting the word of anyone that's selling something.

No your asking the wrong question, or so it seems because you already know the answer I'm willing to bet. If you can find this type of information then you should have long ago discover the question is: what PPFD level should I have for X size space, with strain ABC, and running CO2. Fill it in with your information. the same question applies to ALL forms of garden lighting, not to any one type or brand. Its up to you to know your speace and learn the limits of the genetics you grow.

I'm sure HLG could provide the answer Fluence gave, if they had their money and R&D department. These guys are building a business from a small startup.

How many QB boards is too much is like asking how much beer is too much...
Each one teach one!!! By the way, how much beer is too much???

They make the 600h like it is for a reason, it's for shipping purposes, ect. That's the beauty about most of their kits, is it appeals to all kinds and can be made different ways. This was talked about by robin and stephen in another thread. They make the hlg500-hlg600 that way to appeal to a certain market.
If you want better spread. Then you're better off DIY.

That's the beauty of HLG having kits along with boards for sale. a person could build any set up they wish in terms of spread/ more for the buck.

Maybe you could tell me..
Which is the best, 288 or 324 QB?
The 324 and QB288 are completely different chipsets. The 324 is using 80cri 90cri mix of Nichia 757, while the 288 is using lm561c or lm301b.
There arent a lot of people that I have seen growing with the 324, to make a valid statement of which grows better.
The 80/90cri mix is definitely a great option.

I guess you wouldn't know, but how do you think it would be if I was going to try one of each?

Can someone with a HLG-480H-2100B test the main output of their driver and tell me was the voltage and amps coming out of it are?

I use mine to drive four QB288's and something is wrong. I'm looking at a dim Slate here and either this thing is driving the boards or it isn't.

It should be well within the drivers power envelope - I'd look for a poor connection somewhere. Do you have a multimeter?

Figured it out. My potentiometer went bad. I opened the wago and once it loosened the brightness came back so I just disconnected it.

Hey y'all, how's the heat output of these boards?
Would 12,000 btus be enough cooling for a room with 4 QBs?
What about 8 QBs?
