Will male parts always be carrying pollen

is there any chance that male pollen sacks forming could be ineffective. First run of this strain went fine no seeds but on inspection of the bud at the end after dry there were male pollen sacks which seemed to be empty! Not nanners poking out of buds little ball like capsules on little stems never seen it before anywhere.
Anyone had any similar experiences ?

Are you sure what you saw was non pollen bearing male sacs and not some variation of a swollen unfertilized female calyx ?

Yes, you can get sterile pollen... it is not common.
It can be in the form of not producing any or producing cytoplasmic pollen.

They were on little stems poking I have never seen the female calyx on a stem so I’m confused

So I’m running it again and the little stems and balls were all over the place in abundance after couple weeks of flower so I cut them all couldn’t risk pollinating the others. My friend is running the same clones so we will see how his ends up I have warned him but he seems to think that if he has a few seeds it’s fine so at least I will know what’s going on with these little stem balls

He had thousands of seeds he wouldn’t listen, funny how the first run produced no seeds just buds anyone got any In put on that?

Sometimes unfertilized female plants throw a desperation male flower (or several) very late in their flower cycle.

Seen that a few times. The pollen from that flower will produce feminized seeds.

If you see “balls” early on in flower they are likely from stress. I have seen them from pruning in flower and nutrient stress. They tend to form single balls right off the node at the stem.

These likely contain viable pollen. But can be picked off and if the stress is removed they may not come back.

Late “nanners” can grow single or in bunches. These are actually the inside parts of the male flower. The balls are unopened male flowers. They need to open to release pollen so if in ball form they are still safe.

But nanners if seen can already pollinate. They can be viable, weak or sterile. They can be hidden in the bud some and that’s when you get a few seeds but never saw male parts.

I have strains that show single nanners about week 8-9 but I like to go 10-11 for best potency. Usually no seeds result. But sometimes a few are found.

The late nanners frequently are found in upper buds. They drop pollen to the lowers where we find the seeds.

I always feel a few can be managed but if a plant has a full breakout and it continues I always chop it before it cross pollenates my multi stage perpetual garden.
