there are types of people that fit certain jobs. it's always been that way, and always will be. there are also exceptions to the rule.I categorically reject the notion that the only people willing and able to execute the position of CEO effectively are greedy narcissists.
This just perpetuates a wildly inaccurate stereotype and conveniently ignores the fact that bad actors get away with such behavior only because of the current legal, regulatory and business climate.
if you aren't interested in the acquisition of wealth, why would you take a ceo job? because you want to make it a better company? please.
and if you did find some philanthropist who genuinely wanted to improve the company, he would probably drive it out of business.
