Help Needed (pics in thread)

Hey guys I recently started a grow and started encountering a problem. If you guys have any suggestion on what the cause may be, I would greatly appreciate the advice.

Medium I am using is Canna terra professional.
Under Led Mother's lil helper (140w)
rh: 50-60%
temps: 23-26 degrees Celsius

Nutes:

First watering: using bottled drinking water

Second watering: RO water + Rhizotonic (0.2 ec) + Calcium (0.15 ec) + Magnesium (0.10 ec) total ec:0.45 pH:6.0

Third Watering : RO water + Rhizotonic (0.1 ec) + Canna Vega (0.3 ec (one third of the recommended dose)) Calcium (0.075 ec) + Magnesium (0.05 ec) total ec:0.6 pH:6.0

Looks like phosphorus deficiency to me man.

I havnt used Canna Terra Professional before.
I was just reading about it on their website.
I understand its a soiless potting mix?
Its a nitrogenous mix as well. According to CANNA.

Whats your PK like on your veg bottle?
Specifically P.

Watering schedule?
Ph of the media?

I think they're probably ready to transplant too.
Root bound plants, do that kinda thing as well.

Might be worth transplanting. Water it in plain water.
Then adjust PK, for first feed.
Think its what i would do.
Looking pretty damn healthy otherwise.

The pH of the medium is 6.0

Yeah I should transplant in a day because I just watered them yesterday. The soil comes with some NPK not sure of the exact ration the guy at the grow shop told me it's usualy enough to sustain aaprx 10-14 days, the plants have now been in that mix for apprx 15 days so what you're saying makes a lot of sense.

The canna vega has some phosphorous in it 14 6 17 npk from what I could find on the internet, I'll double check as soon as I get home.

Ive only watered them 4 times up until now. First watering was bottled water second and third was using the same mix as the second watering mentioned above and last one was using the third watering mentioned above. So the last time I used some of the vega but 1/3 the recommended dose as it's my first indoor grow using this type of nutes.

I won't be adding any nutes at transplant since I'll be adding more soil that aleeady has nutes in it . I'll just just use the rhizotonic with some beneficial microorganisms.

Yeah does look, and sound like they are due.
Id get them into their final pot, if you weren't going any larger, than 25L pot size or so.

If that NPK is true. Then they do need a little more balance.
Id only be adding phosphorus, to that npk%.
Try to adjust to an even %.
Like a 5-5-5. Or 10-10-10, 20-20-20.
To tell you the truth. Im not sure about a good raw source of phosphorus, without other stuff included too. Someone else will have to help there.
Unless you resort to a different nutrient.......
There will be a lot of nitrogen in your freash pot.
Whats your bloom NPK like? That may balance it out.
First thing that came to mind, when i saw your photos was phosphorus deficiency.
Pretty damn certain its P. Going by the npk as well.
They're looking nice and green anyway.

I wouldn't think those were rootbound yet?20180606_093644.jpg..this plant is at least 18" tall and bushy and it's not even close to root bound

..it sounds to me like you might be better with let's say a 3 part Hydro nutrient combo, and recommend using it according to directions on your first run, always starting at a lower dose of course, instead of trying to feed a little of this and a little of that, because I think that's where your imbalance is coming from ? I think if you did that it would give you best results

The pots in the OP's post look too small tbh.
They're beginning tp stretch because of it too. By the looks of things to me.
Phosphorus thickens stems etc. Helps early development. So it could be the deficiency too.
Hydroponics store recommended OP transplant after 2 weeks as well.
Been 15 days......

I still believe the problem to be phosphorus deficiency.
But may as well transplant too.
Hit two birds with one stone.
Definitely doesn't look like a lot of room they have.

My suggestion and question is really a shot in the dark. But you said that your first feeding was bottled drinking water. Now this is an important question: Was it spring water or RO drinking water. Some spring water is way high...like 500ppm of dissolved solids (mostly Ca++) So Ca++ on soil, Ca++ in Canna vega. Just saying maybe you did a little overdo on the calcium initially which could be blocking absorption of other cations.

Hey Guys!

I am currently at Day 35 but I am feeling really confused about a few things... My plants are not looking perfect and I can't seem to figure out what the problem is.

At first I thought it was overfeeding then underfeeding, then thought it might be some light bleaching, and now I am still confused. Also I have too many different plants, which makes it even more confusing, as each one is different.

So the last three waterings are as follow:

August 7 (day 26 of flower) :

Using RO water (ec:0.05) to start with
Ca:0.15 (ec)
Mg:0.1 (ec)
40ml of Canna Flores (for 10l of water)
25ml of CannaBoost (for 10l of water)
12.5ml of Canna PK (for 10l of water)
5ml of Canna Rhizotonic (for 10l of water)

Total final ec: 1.8
final pH: 6.0

August 11 (day 30 of flowering):

At this point, I felt I was overfeeding and the guy from the grow shop recommended me to give plain watering in between feedings. So I followed his advice and gave it plain water for the first time. He also advised me to start raising the pH a bit so I brought it up to 6.2. He also told me to check the runoff of a few plants to know If there was build up or no.

RO water

Total final ec: 0.05
Total final pH: 6.2

measured the runoff of 2 plants; one of them was: ec:1.1 and pH: 6.1 and the other ec:1.2 and pH:6.1

It made me feel like I was not overfeeding.

What I started thinking is that I might have been giving too little Ca and Mg throughout the grow as one of the plants that showed nute burn symptoms was also showing Ca deficiency symptoms. Another one of my clones was showing Ca deficiency so I thought I could up it up a bit.

August 15 (day 34 of flowering):

Using RO water (ec:0.05) to start with

Ca:0.3 (ec) compared to 0.15 previously
Mg:0.2 (ec) compared to 0.1 previously
40ml of Canna Flores (for 10l of water)
25ml of CannaBoost (for 10l of water)
5ml of Canna PK (for 10l of water)
5ml of Canna Rhizotonic (for 10l of water)

Total final ec: 1.75
final pH: 6.2

I decided to measure the runoff of two plants again to get a feel of what was happening: both of them had a reading too high for the meter to measure (meaning the ec was higher than 2.0) and the pH for both was 5.8.

This confused me so much.

This is my first Indoor grow and the room was just set up, so I ran into a lot of small issues. Hopefully I'll be able to pull it off with a good clean smoke.

Btw all the plants hermied at the beginning of flowering, I checked them all thoroughly 3 different times and had fun plucking the nanners one by one as I wasn't going to start over. They stopped showing nanners on any of the new flowers. All of them were on the lower buds.

I feel the plants are still kind of stunted and a lot of the new growth is not as dark as it is supposed to be.

So here are pictures of the plants; any advice is greatly appreciated.

Howdy Red, forget about "perfect" for a few grows, focus on getting them finished instead..

Not sure where you're seeing light bleaching, but I'm seeing deficiencies. Are you supplementing cal-mag?

Also agree with Tim, I believe the purpling is caused by a phosphorus deficiency

Never, ever, ever re-pot your plants.

That's the biggest bunch of bullshit in personal growing and it's completely and totally unnecessary. Your plant is VERY close to being root bound already because of how small that pot is.

Always plant directly in the pot your going all the way in.

The entire start small and replant thing is done by nuserys that are growing in HUGE, HUGE amounts. The reason they do that is many fold. Some sell to other growers that will replant them. Some are sold at varying amounts for the various sizes. Think 'Home Depot Garden Center'.

It's not for you to do. Just germinate the seed, then plant it directly into your 5 gallon (or whatever size you're final grow is going to be in) pot.

Done.

I second that Taco, it should only be done if it NEEDS to be done or if you're purchasing from someone. Those white specs on your smaller leaves towards the buds....are those trichomes, or white dots?...If those white specs aren't trichomes, they remind me of spider mite bites....I could be totally misreading this though.

I am supplementing with Cal Mag using the mono line from Canna. I start with RO water that has an ec of 0.03 and get it up to 0.3. I feel it might still be too low. Also should I be feeding every watering of feed twice then pure water once? I feel my whole problem might be due to the Ca/Mg

Might be nute burn but with a Ca or Mg deficiency

I flushed them a bit with pure RO water last time. And will flush a bit again next watering but with Ca and Mg. 0.2 ec of Ca and 0.2 ec of mg (using Canna mono). Meaning the water will have a total ec of apprx 0.4 (since im using RO)
