Anyone doing over 3lb / 4x4 using LED's?

What amazes me, is that the yodaweeds of the world will continue to argue with people who made the switch and have experienced the benefits. Being able to double your grow area with the same power consumption, not needing ac, not replacing bulbs etc.
I'm about to build my 4th light, 16 2' EB's with a MW480h. Going to crush.
guess you didn't research further, i have LEDs and use them....i test things out before giving an opinion.

What LED's do you have and why are you still using them if they're junk? "600w of led will not replace a gavita DE 1kw, do not listen to manufacturers trying to sell you their equipment" is a false statement when referring to modern high end stuff and DIY, it might be correct if referring to junky blurple ripoff lights. Not all LED's are created equal. Reading a few of your own words is all the research I need to conclude you are talking out of your ass..

O
No I used led strips underneath, but they were very inefficient and likely didn't do much if anything. The lower buds were no more dense and no larger than they would have been normally without supplemental lighting. In a later grow I hung the strip leds in between the plants illuminating them vertically and I did notice more bud development and density but not sure it was worth the wattage used, I think I could get the same or better results from better training.
Ok thanks!

That statement you quoted is true. 600w of led does not equal 1000w of hid. Led efficiency is good, just not that good.

you know thats been done over and over and over, right?

growmau5 did video after video with full metrics on g/W, g/SF, and g/kWH over flowering cycle

there have been literally too many growers to count here who have reported exceeding 1.2 g/W routinely. The best do 1.7 g/W and up
leds prob will do that but who in there right mind wants to spend near on 500 for a cheapo led or 3000k for the best ?

were i am getting 400 w hps full setup for 85 bucks or a 315 lec for 125 ?if leds were that cheap minus mars unit and the cheapo leds from china maybe more people would use them here were i live not one store sells leds u ask about them and all u get is bad news not 1 state a whole country lol

What would make you lean toward a 4x4? With that much power, you might as well give it more space!

I may just run the 400 watts of cobs with one 54 watt 10,000k+uva agromax bulb.

I know the extra is not needed. I really want to build a 5x5 or 5.5x5.5 but thought about just buying a 4x4 tent.

I saw a tent that was a 4x4 with an extra two foot that had a double can in the extra. It was a perpetual grow in one tent. It had a clone area, veg and flower together. I could get it and buy a small qb panel and I would have enough light for all three.

next we will be in a full blown board meeting about leds and how the numbers and graphs beat a hps light
That sounds like the complaint of someone who knows they can't support their own argument with data.

LED's superiority by a gram/watt metric is not even a question these days, and LEDs being cost-prohibitive is an outdated notion. Those who believe otherwise are mistaken.
