Which technique Is best for max yeild?

F56C114E-AEF5-4C90-946F-A579DBB75F72.png hey guys,

First time grower here, Just now I’ve tied down 2 of 4 of my plants. I’m wondering which is best for maximum yeild? lST, super cropping, topping or SCROG?
Also how do my plants look? 600watt HID and 250watt HID they are 8weeks and 3 days old. Feeding once every day sometimes third day with NPK.
I’m also thinking of taking 4-5 clones of each plant next week. Thoughts?

Thanks heapssss!

Lst has great results as well as topping depends what you're wanting. But I would say you're feeding too much I feed every other watering which I usually water every 3 to 4 days depending on the weight of the pot. I'm running autos so it's quite different than a photo plant. But I leaf tuck and use defoliation as well as some light lst

sog is the top producer, but you have to not be worried about plant counts if you get caught. doesn't matter that they're not very big, they still count just like the huge fuckers.
scrog is a good alternative, you can fill a 4x4 tent with two or three plants, and get a good yield, but it takes a little longer to get going.
anything to give you an even canopy, that's not so thick that the bottom isn't getting light, will help with yields. not going to advocate defoliation, but judicious pruning can open the bottom of the plant up, and a lot of that popcorn will become little nugs.

If you wanna keep the number of plants low, no sog. I have limited experience with scrog. Some strains do amazing topping and fimming, some dont respond well to it. Im a big fan of lots of topping and fimming, tho it adds weeks to veg time. Along with lots of lst and supercropping up until the last couple weeks of flower. Its all about your goals, and what you can and want to do and afford. The girls look happy and healthy. Looks like youve got a good grasp on training. Good luck, keep it up.

What you have going on in the pic is best considering everything. No apparatus like a SCROG. No multiple plants. I personally top 3 times and supercrop . You get 8 main branches and tons of clones. All the side buds get larger than if grown upright. Just keeping it simple.

I am sorry but I dont get it when people say I topped 2 or 3 times.
You top once, then you top again the secondary that have been catching up ? What about the third topping lol ?

My 2cent would be that there are some strains that yield worst when topping, growing a main cola, more suitable for SOG. I try to think about that.

SOG. 1 freshly rooted clone put into flower per square foot. I’ve even heard of 4 per square foot.
Agree. Grew Sea of Green last century exclusively. Six inch square pots packed side by side in homemade flood and drain trays. (Soil grower now, love it!)

I feel it's more productive than scrog over time because a lot of time is not spent branching and spreading etc., I think in two to three runs it becomes a more productive method, just my opinion

You're right there are some strains that don't like topping, usually the breeder will tell you or you can look into it but for the most part most of us top a couple times or so, and for a second topping you top the auxiliary branches that come up from the first topping, etc., hope that helps good luck!

Lately I’ve been pulling over a pound on one plant in a 15 gallon smart bag in a 3x3 space using the SCROG technique.

Lights used is a double ended 600 watt HID until the last month of flowering when I add a 600 watt (I think it’s 280 true watts) LED which helps with making the buds really dense.

What would be a third topping then ? Lul. You would need huge plant to be able to do it efficiently, right ? Maybe hotrod will tell how he's doing.
Good luck to you too bro

i top at least twice, sometimes as many as four times, but it all depends on the plant, and how much time i have before i want to put it into flower. some plants just kind of ignore the first topping, they just put out new shoots where the old ones were. you have to break that apical dominance, or you'll get a 8 foot tall weedy plant that can't hold up small buds.

Love this site. Thanks for the feedback guys. I’ll sit with LST atm.
Since my rental inspection is in 3 months. Hope she’s drying by than.
