jim crow laws imposed by local governments did not even come close to mandating the amount of segregation that was experienced in the south.

denying the reality of the harm that was caused to black families across the south is not a smart thing to do.

i am very glad that the federal government stepped in to end the harmful segregation practices of white conservatives in the south.
