Hello Folks, :peace:

As some of you know, I have been restricted by height for my tent in the loft. ( first timer ) Hence using Mars 600 LEDs for low heat and safety factor. And as I vegged way too long, I now see tigers...( In the jungle ) Anyway, I decided to take a tape measure around the loft. And that's when my thinking kicked in.... AND "I know I know " it's not one of my better attributes. :joint::dunce:
Anyways.... I discovered ( see photos )
If I made use of the area I would just use 6ft x 5ft
And height apex is 5'10" and tapering down to 4'10"
What do you think?
Any suggestions?

I don't quite understand your question, or what you want for advise, but at the moment I'm pretty buzzed so maybe that's it?

Bahahaha.... I was quite buzzed when I wrote that. Basically, I have been struggling with my first grow due to space and height. The tent is a loft tent which I just positioned for easy access. I even had to cut the poles down 10". But looking around the loft armed with a tape measure, I found a section/area where I gain a foot in height and a lot more square footage. So I'm going to build my own grow room up here. And as I work in construction, I have plenty bits of materials and off cuts available to me. Tonight I brought home enough ply to cover the whole floor area. which I cut to size, earlier at work. Up here know screwing down.
With the dimensions/height I mentioned in the original post, I was wondering how many lights and wattage. I will use 530 w QB V2 One of which I got today. I do have 2 Mars LED 600s = 275 true watts. I may use them on the sides. I can order another QB in a months time... or should I get something stronger?
Chuffed to have space. :joint: 8)

I forgot to say my that not only was space and height to blame for my struggles... its also because I know so little at the moment.

Make sure you know the live load your ceiling joists are designed for and take that into account when building the room. Those look like true 2x8"s
You are going to have a good time with climate control up there, depending on where you live.
Most people work with around 7-8ft of height. Your lights and plant training are going to help you out here.
I would use more like 3x3 with your lights combined.

Many thanks for the good advice. :hump:Yes, 2 x 8s. Oldish building. Strong. Yes, the loft can get real humid.... summer time mainly.
You folk at rollitup and yourself included have definitely taught me very well. Still got curing to learn... if my flowers grow? ( see next forum I do shortly )

Ac would work. I would not run it there though. Duct a window unit up there from somewhere else. Just dry run everything to get your temps dialed in.
Your lights are probably going to raise your ambient around 3-7 degrees. Just a rough guess with LED's so start from there.
So if your at 90 with no lights, you will probably be more like 93-97 with plants and lights on.

So you have to get rid of 20 degrees in a 3x3x5 space.
You can use that to calculate your cooling load and go from there

With the RH around 60°, I am a bit puzzled as to why no moisture visible anywhere and non felt either?

RH at 60 percent not degrees right? 60 is not that bad really for RH. The hotter you get the more your RH will drop.
You need to get rid of 20 degrees of temp.
If you put an a/c in that will drop the RH by itself so worry about that later

Sorry my reply came late. No disrespect intended. Yes RH was %, not ° as I said.
I have purchased an a/c and a dehumidifier. The dehumidifier is currently in use in tent keeping RH in check for me on my first grow ( nearly time to crop )
As for loft grow room. I have purchased panda poly for top and sides, a roll of reflective white waterproof vinyl 2.6mm thick for the floor, several metres of velcro and velcro zips, RCD's and surge/spike plugs, also a second hydro system, a second fan and an a/c and dehumidifier ( as already mentioned ) I am off most of next week and have my work cut out which I look forward to.

So let me say this, I tried something similar a few years back. I turned my shed into a grow shed. Temps where I live in the summer are stupid hot 90+ daily, the sheds gets to 100 in no time. I spent a crap ton of money, put a portable ac unit in there duel tubes (one that exhausts the heat out). Had a 600w hps, cooled hood, 6” in-line fan 5x6 space. Moral of the story is between the 600w hps and the portable ac unit whichNEVER turns off becuase it was so hot, the electric bills where $350-$400 a month. I very quickly dismantled that, and learned the hard way.

Ouch!
I'm lucky that we have short summers. And not so hot. But yes, good to hear about such things before they happen.
I'm using LEDs, which are also a bit cooler.

You may be using led’s but the heat from the space in general will cause your ac to run constantly. I had a cooled hood with glass insert, it was not the cause of the heat. Keep us posted on what you figure out, cheers mate.
