Gillum’s miraculous night

Because he is pure...

So pure he floats.
I don't hold the fact that schuylaar likes Gillum against him. I don't have a vote in the Florida election but if I did, I'd most certainly place it with Gillum over DeSantis. Vote on principle in primaries and vote tactically in the general election.

Edit: I would like to hear @Padawanbater2 explain why it's OK for Gillum to accept big corporate donor money and not anybody who isn't a "Sanders endorsed" candidate. Given his stance against big corporate donors shouldn't he be outraged by Gillum's acceptance of legal campaign money that violates the litmus test for a true Progressive(TM)?

Nor do I. The idea that "we" are upset when a progressive wins is a wholly made-up one perpetuated by Progressives (TM) and their alt-right crypto-thought-masters. I am glad he took the money as I think winning elections is important. I also applaud any politician who feels that they can eschew it and still win in their district. But these three preening Progressives have used this as the acid test to point out the so-called corruption of any politician who has not voted 100% the way they want (while excusing their anointed ones when they do the same) and it is nice to show them to be total hypocrites.

there was a reason to accept the money.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think there is any reason why he shouldn't accept a legal campaign contribution. I also don't think a candidate or office holder is automatically corrupt if he does.

Is your excuse for Gillum valid for every other candidate who accepts legal campaign contributions?

'we better not monkey this thing up..' -Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Ron DeSantis on Florida Governor's Race

he just lost to Andrew Gillum..hope DeSantis doesn't show his face anywhere.
45's little buddy said what he wanted to say. On election night my wife said, "I didn't know he was black." Now everyone in the state knows he's black. He's not ashamed of it. It worked just like he wanted it to.

I saw this thread a week or two ago, and wanted to post, but didn't have the time. {after reading the last 8 pages, I wish I had taken the time then}

I voted for Gwen Graham. I think she had a better chance of wining in the general election. I like her. {I liked her daddy too}

Lots of people didn't know Gillum was black. He wasn't in any of his TV ads. Now that everyone knows he's black, he's going to have an uphill battle. I'll vote for him, and I hope there is a big turnout on his side. But you know the other side will use the "S" word to scare the folks. They will have a big turnout too.

I dread the next couple of months. It will be a good time to sell your TV.

Chin up

Obama was a black muslim socialist too and carried your state twice

So true. And this guy might do it too. It will all be down to turnout. If the black vote turns out like it did those two times, he will most likely win. I they stay home, like 2016, he could lose badly.
Demographics in your state are gonna kill the gop over time

The only thing to worry about is that this is a midterm rather than a presidential year

The lower turnout will favor republicons

This morning when I was jumping in the shower I turned on College Football Final on ESPNU. One of the first things I heard was a Gillum ad. It was a bio ad playing hard on the poor black child making it good. {I had to stick my head out of the shower to make sure it hadn't switched to a local channel. No it was Dish putting a local ad on a national feed}

I'm guessing that ad isn't going to convince many undecided voters in Northern Florida to vote for Gillum. Then again, are there any undecided voters to be convinced in Northern Florida?

They are working on the black and progressive turnout. Most white Dems in my neck of the woods are Blue Dogs. Some will vote the party line, but most don't.

I think you are right. IMO, Gillum would be better off running on policies and let DeSantis do the race baiting. Could it be that the ad you heard was from a PAC that isn't part of the Gillum campaign?
