They were HLGs boards, they couldn't be any lower than they bought them wholesale from HLG

No, timber’s business is about fixtures.
They made a much better version of hlg’s fixture offerings, at a much lower price.

And also if they buy boards at Wholesale, and make a cheaper product, because they don't get as much return. Is it really their fault?

Maybe Timber just want to break away from the QBs to make room for a new project of their own, a new board or strip with incorporated far red or something to separate their fixtures from others. USP and all!
That would make more sense to me than HLG cutting off supply of a board they make and sell to Timber.
End of the day though this is all speculation and does nobody any good. Time will tell the full story.

Dan told me in august they had 300 boards, didn’t expect to run out anytime soon.
Sounds like you either have an agenda, or don’t understand the fixture biz. Timber bought the boards at whatever price, added significant value with timber’s fixture design, then sold the high-end (meaning, very profitable) product at a lower price than hlg.
Reading between the lines some more, seems hlg allowed them to sell existing inventory (at least) as custom fixtures. The lemonade out of this lemon for timber aficionados.

They just introduced the product line in August, lots of great reviews!
Legal issues w hlg, and probably an nda, i’d bet my two 48sams on it!
Been thru this shit in one of my biz’, this is how it looks from outside...
First dan had to change hlg board reference to “samsung” on website, that apparently wasn’t good enuff, now product line gone but custom builds available...we’ll see if it ends there.

How do I not? Lmao. If you sell a product for 70$ to the people. But wholesale you sell it to me for 30. I make a fixture and sell it for 65$. How is it my fault I'm taking less of a profit and giving the public a product. Where is the problem with that.

I’ve been happy with the hlg prods i have, and with the service they have provided when i had issues with their products.
It probably doesn't matter to them, but i will go out of my way, and gladly spend more than I would otherwise have to, purchasing hlg competitor products, unless/until they work out a reasonable biz arrangement with Timber.
QBs are a category killer that all thoughtful non-qb vendors have to be worried about. There is plenty of room for companies like hlg and timber. Totally fucking stupid move on hlg’s part.

"highly valuable" is not a term I would use either.
Someone on previous page suggested that I do not have a clue.
They will be oblivious to the many years I toiled in an engineering workshop a few decades ago.
HLG550 and 300 = robust quality construction, not cheap to manufacture
24SAM & 48SAM = delicate fixture, cheap material cost, brain turned off when designed
35SAM & Redwood SAM = yeah, that`s better
