A Tale of Two Freebie Seedlings

On Aug. 20 I started germinating four free feminized seeds that I got from Single Seed Center with orders last year. Two were labeled Cheese, but one of them fell on the floor while I was fumbling around with them and it was lost. The other one germed and you can see the seedling in the square container in the photos. Of the other two seeds, only one sprouted. The seedling is in the round container. I am not sure what strain it is because the label came off and got lost, but I think it could be Girl Scout Cookies, based on info that I found in my account at SSC. IMG_0260.JPG IMG_0262.JPG

Anyway, as you can see the presumptive GSC seedling is already heavy in flower, even though I have kept the plants under a light all night outside to encourage veg growth. In fact, yesterday I decided to move the GSC away from the night light over to my full-flowering plants because I think it has "gone too far" into flowering. Maybe it was an autoflower all along? Wish I had done a better job of saving the label. Regardless, it will probably never get much taller than it is now, but it'll be loaded with flowers.

As for the Cheese, I think I saw a couple white hairs the other day, but it still looks like it is vegging. I am probably going to snip the very top meristem off of it to encourage side branches that I can use for clones.

FWIW, I read some sources saying Cheese is a sativa, others say indica. Curious to see how big this plant gets.

I started a freebie Skunk 1. It's coming along nicely but smells nothing like skunk. I had 2 auto skunk 1s that stunk up the joint. But this so called Skunk 1 has a sweet smell. So much for freebies I'm thinking.

I want to try growing Skunk one of these days. I've grown plants that smelled skunky, but never the official Skunk. I actually like the smell. Just remembered, a dispensary in LA claims to be selling Roadkill Skunk clones at the low, low price of $10!

With a name like Roadkill Skunk, it's gotta be dank... or it better be!

Here in southern Oregon you have to go to craigslist to get $10 clones. I would get Roadkill Skunk in a heartbeat although my neighbors would give me dirty looks.

Good Luck with the freebies. I've bought very few seeds, so my list of freebies is short. The list is. . . .

Poly Shunk 1.5. That is ([Triangle Kush Cookies x Nightcap] X Sinmint) X Shit/Skunk. It turned out to be my favorite of the shunks {shit/skunk crosses}.

I did win 5 Blueberry Twist fem seeds on here. From the Gorilla. They did alright, but nothing special. I crossed them with Blueberry X Shark Shock. Twisted Blue Sharks?

From what I hear, none of those turn out to smell like the RKS of old.

I'm running a lot of Shit/Skunk crosses. They have just a hint of skunk. More like a skunk who wears too much after shave.
