It's hard to see the forest when you're a tree. No, I just hate stupidity and biased BS.

It's even harder when the government's taking a hatchet to your knees. It's hard to see the forest when you're a tree.
We The People? It's even harder when the government's taking a hatchet to your knees.
There was no question mark in it.We The People?
government's- We, the people, disregarding responsibility and hoping for change. We still vote last time I checked. It's even harder when the government's taking a hatchet to your knees.
Perfect union? What about slavery? Thank God for Lincoln, his wisdom, his fortitude, and his determination. There was no question mark in it.
We the people, in order to form a more perfect union.
Not a perfect union, they already had that when they united the 13 colonies under the Commonwealth, then they had to go and fuck it all up.
You would have the founders answer for actions that took place with out their knowledge, and were conducted by the British? What about giving blankets infected with small pox to the Native Americans? It should read "in order to steal a more perfect union". The beginning of America was based on bullshit, is it any wonder that the end is also based on bullshit?
Quite easily, it was unknown to them at the time, and they didn't realize that there was another continent where America was.How can you "discover" a country when people already live there?
Shouldn't the Native American's have been invited into this process too? That's what I mean by founded on bullshit.
That's why I brought it up. Benchmarks. Now I know why.... Thanks. You would have the founders answer for actions that took place with out their knowledge, and were conducted by the British?
Did whites ever give Native Americans blankets infected with smallpox?
If it happened at all.
It wasn't the Colonists that were talking about indiscriminately using smallpox against the Indians it was the English Soldiers.
As far as it being founded on bullshit. You're telling me that a union that was founded on equality for all men, was bullshit.
There's nothing about slavery in the constitution, and many of the founding fathers thought slavery was distasteful, and morally wrong, but they were willing to make compromises.
As far as Lincoln, Booth should have shot the bastard sooner, before the SOB signed the first Income Tax into Law.
And the total premis is flawed. When you "invade" someones homeland then exclude them from the governing process, It's called conquest, and to the victors go the spoils. Nothing honorable about that. That is the same old bullshit that has been going on since time ad-finitum. This whole nation is based on conquest, and the notion that there is anything honarable in that is fucking rediculous. All men are created equal, well except "Indians" and "Negroes" Kill one and enslave the other. Our founding fathers that all you righties and libertarians like to emulate, were nothing but a bunch of thieves and scoundrels. The prose that they wrote into our documents was pretty impressive, but it left out half the population, and still does.Quite easily, it was unknown to them at the time, and they didn't realize that there was another continent where America was.
As far as them choosing to include, or not include the Indians in the founding. That's more a matter of prevailing attitudes at the time. They viewed the Indians as savages and barbarians, so their perspective was shaped by that, and thus to them, asking the Indians what they thought would have been similar to Rome asking the Germans about what the Roman Empire should do, or to China asking the Mongolians what they should do.
Still trying to make me feel guilty that you got your ass kicked, Med?And the total premis is flawed. It would have helped if he was alive at the time, where did you learn your american history Vi? publik scoolsHey, yeah ... that's what the Founding Fathers should have done; Invited Geronimo to the Constitutional Convention!

This is the second time I've seen you praise Licoln. I remember you listing Lincoln when talking about the great republicans in history. You do realize the republican party of his day is the DEMOCRATIC party of today right? LoL do u still think he's so great?Perfect union? What about slavery? Thank God for Lincoln, his wisdom, his fortitude, and his determination.
Great people need not be prefaced with party affiliation. As for your contention....... Good one. Even though I've heard that joke before, it's still funny. This is the second time I've seen you praise Licoln. I remember you listing Lincoln when talking about the great republicans in history. What No attack??? No insults??? That was actually an interesting and well thought out response. What's up with u today diane???Great people need not be prefaced with party affiliation. As for your contention....... Good one. Even though I've heard that joke before, it's still funny.
Lincoln was the harbinger the founding fathers knew would eventually be produced by this great nation. My assertion is that while they did not know, our founders, the means by which slavery would be abolished, they knew that the system of governance they were enacting was incompatible with the institution. That "all men are created equal" leaves little room for interpretation.
Lincoln was involved in a set of circumstances greater than himself, and he led with conviction based on his understanding of the fatal flaw of slavery. While his motives can and will always be questioned, what cannot be questioned is the outcome of the endeavor. The world changed. Whether you think for the better, or, the worse, will most likely shape your impression of Lincoln.
Regardless, speculators dwell on what could have been if war was averted. This is fine for fun and amusement, but what was is the reality we must learn from. Great leaders make hard calls, unpopular calls. Great leaders are rarely thought to be such in their own lifetimes. Great leaders, men and women, like Lincoln, are our most uncommon, valuable commodity, as Americans, and, as humans.
Gos bless "Governor" Palin and her family.
Attacks on Lincoln demand immediate, serious, attention. What No attack??? No insults??? That was actually an interesting and well thought out response. What's up with u today diane???
