Expanded on my QB 260 v2 kit

I thought the 3x3 could benefit from a more uniform spread although the HLG 260 v2 kit on its own did just fine.

I added 2x Samsung LT-F564B 2′ Strips in 3500k running off of a Meanwell HLG-120H-C1400A Driver mounted on 2" wide 2' Heatsinks from Heatsink USA. Everything is mounted in series on a 1010 extrusion frame. I took some ideas from GreenGene's recent strips tutorial (and would have preferred his strips but the OOS status led me to the Samsungs). I'm not too thrilled with how warm the Samsungs run at full crank - I do have thermal tape running down the whole strip but I think it's more to do with the light spacing on the strip itself - I think it would have been better to go with 4x LT-F562B's.

Anyway, I can't wait for the next round with this new fixture. If anyone has any questions about this fixture, lmk. It's all super basic but effective

That's why I went with the single row f562bs instead the 574bs bc of heat issues. A good buddy on here that's an led guru. Built one of the first sammy led lights on here. And I asked him if he could do it over what he would change. He said use the single row LEDs bc of the heat. Jus double your strips. So that's what i did. I run 10 of the 560mm f562b on hlg320 right now. Getting ready to swap that driver out for a hlg480h. And use the 320h driver on 7 of the same strips in a 32x32 tent. 4 @4k and 3 @3k on the 320 itll put out about 307-9 watts.

Heres my first build I've since added 5 Samsung sunboards they have 96 diodes. Inbetween the reds and other sammys

Are you gonna add any other strips to it. Some deep reds or far reds inbetween the QB and Sammy's would be nice. Or even a high cct strip. Like 4k or 5k

Well since I'm not even happy with the F564B's and I wanted the PLC strips I'll just wait for them to come into stock and maybe use these F564B's under driven like a mofo in another application. 1400mA is listed as typical for the PLC strips so the driver and size of the heatsinks are already setup.

You might also want to consider filling that empty space with some 660nm QB11s.

I'm more than happy with my f562bs they put out the weight and frost. I got them 3k. But also use 660nm HE photo red, 720nm far red, and 5 strips of 27k.

What do you not like about them? I thought you had the double row f564bs? Just the heat?

Yeah dude that's it - I live in the south east and don't want a stupid high electric bill, so I do my best to keep the tent efficient and cool as possible without dropping the central air to 68* haha. This is all for hobby so I'm not building ac into the room or anything - deal or die. I'll try running them cool - I intended to keep this fixture a little higher anyway, I got some fox tailing last time but I think that was genetic. The lamp is in the tent now, the coverage using my naked eye gauge seems really uniform. I'm stoked to try it out regardless. Waiting for clones to root now.

Edit: I just realized why I confused you with my typo - yes F564b's. I'll fix my previous post...

Humple, I did consider that as well but given my current stance on the F564's, I'm going to just chill for now and probably go PLC when they're in stock. Since his youtube video is what inspired this build I feel I owe PLC and @Greengenes707 some consumer love

Yeah my buddy said his got a tad hot. Theres not enough copper in the pcb only being less than 3/4" wide for that many leds. I mean I understand Samsung made them efficient. But they do get hot. That's why I went with single row. Essentially the double row fb24bs are a qb stretched out. And to run them hard they require a heat sink. So take away some copper that helps cool them. They get hot period. Maybe try a little bigger heatsink ane buy two small 50mmx50mm PC fans. You can get 5 for like 10 bucks on Amazon. To blow across the heatsinks. That's what i use 50mmx50mm in my tubes. They stay super cool run at almost 100%, on the 320h driver.

@whytewidow I was considering fans so we'll see. The heatsinks are 2" wide so they're almost 2x the width of the strips and they are legit heatsinks, not just angled aluminum, run at 1400mA.
