The dems control the assembly and senate. Gov Cuomo has come out as a supporter. All signs point to it being possible. Will NY finally legalize it? I love to grow but i've only been growing geraniums since i dont want to risk a misd, would love to get back to growing some sativas

Yes, its gonna happen. The support is real huge, plus the whole democrat party of NY supports/endorsed legalization.... The bill is supposed to be finished by years end and introduced in early 2019.

Slaves will be granted limited permission as long as they give master money and don't speak up when master demonizes another substance.

Rinse, lather, repeat.

There is no reason why an adult should have to ask/ need permission from another human being when it comes to smoking or drinking. each person has ownership over their own body and that decision should be left up to them.

I am also a resident of NY [Queens].
Its an exciting time to be a new yorker. A year or so ago Cuomo was against marijuana and the assembly and senate were republican ruled. I've watched bill after bill from Sen Kruger get shot down without any hope for it getting a vote. It would be unbelievable if NY legalized weed while the dems still have control

. Its going be legalized being as the bill is coming from Cuomo himself. He selected a team to study along with write the bill. They have held public meetings all over NY speaking on cannabis/getting community input.

I hope they allow home growing in the bill unlike the folks next door in New Jersey. I'll just keep on growing my own regardless of the rules though,. Cuomo shouldn't follow the Phil Murphy route of wanting a high 25% tax on sales.

Most states that have legalized it allow home growing so I am not very worried about that. Hopefully the NJ bill will be amended to allow home growing also.

It's highly unlikely you will be allowed to grow your own if/when NY becomes legal. If you're not big business you wont be able to grow, just like how it is now with the medical in NY..
Yep.

Canadians are calling their situation 'prohibition 2.0' and I'm quite sure NY will do the same thing, for exactly the same reason...

GREED.

I think Republicans are trying a last ditch effort at something like that here in Michigan too.

Comes down to greed and a complete disrespect for the people. Trying to muscle out the little home grower and keep control of everything for government or their own friends.

But...

'Freedom!' (for them, not for you)

I have been assuming that growing would be legal since it is in almost all states that have legalized it. I think there is only one state right now that doesn't allow it, although NJ looks like they might go down that route. I would think that if ny is planning on not allowing growing that I would have seen that come up in some googles
