HaHaHaHaHaHaHa!
90 years of prohibition didn't stop a single 16 year old from smoking weed......but hey, if you're 18, pop into the 7-11 and grab a flat of beer for the drive home. Where do they find these backwards dumbasses?

QUEBEC — The Quebec government tabled legislation this morning that would raise the legal age for consuming cannabis in the province to 21.

Bill 2 would also prohibit cannabis consumption in all public places, including parks and streets.

Increasing the legal age to 21 from 18 was one of the Coalition Avenir Quebec's main campaign promises leading up to its Oct. 1 victory.

Lionel Carmant, the junior health minister, has said he is worried about the effects of cannabis on the still-developing brains of young adults.

Carmant, a neurologist, has said he hopes to have the law adopted by March.

The federal law legalizing cannabis consumption sets the minimum age at 18 but gives provinces the power to increase it. In all other provinces and territories, the legal age is 18 or 19.

I read that story earlier and for a fleeting moment I actually felt sorry for Quebecers. Of course reality kicked in and I rationalized that no one is forcing them to live there. But damn that is just crazy shit. Bunch of ass backwards leaders, control freaks.

Nope to self:
1: Fuck quebec
2: never go to quebec
3: laugh at quebec
4: re-fuck quebec

buncha drunk bastards anyway....they go after weed ....ignoring all their issues with alcohol...smart idiots they are.
Nah, I used to smoke cannabis anywhere I wanted at night when I lived in Montreal, even while standing next to cops. Quebec is no different than the rest of Canada, which is that most people are open-minded and tolerant. It the corrupt politicians who fuck things up.

In short, Quebecers are usually cool.

I see no need to go there and plenty of need to not. The gov needs punished...I'll start.
I don't support backwards thinkering like quebec seems to have. Nothing against the individual citizens. Just the place in general.
I also don't give two shits in a bag for their language issues or feeling of being distinct. They ain't no better or worse than any other Canadians. Nothing special there.

I'm an english quebecer and of course am fluent in french.
I love quebec however the politicians are completely always backwards!
All Legault has done by raising the age limit to 21 is give the BM more clients.
Stupid draconian laws, Just a police state in disguise.
dinking alcohol as they sign cannabis discrimination laws into force.

Yo "The Hippy" don't get uptight as you did post it's not the Quebec people that are intolerant it's the political elite that
spew their rant for the uneducated sheep to follow. but then again that is happening everywhere.

I can drink a Beer, touch a dancer and much more according to the law but you can't smoke the "evil devil's weed".
I must be going to Hell :)

Buddy, that us and them attitude of yours speaks more about you than Quebecers.

You've been conditioned and you don't even know it. Sure, it's the government you hate. Do you hate the governments of PEI or Nova Scotia? Yeah, we see what we want.

Oh, and many quebecers can speak English. Heck, some of my buddies from Quebec barely speak any French at all. Yeah, anglophones being assimilated in Quebec is just a fantasy.

Divide and conquer to better rule, as they say.

My family used to visit friends in Quebec City every year. I remember walking into a corner store to buy some munchies or something and being treated like shit because I didn't speak French. It happened more than once in that province. There is absolutely nothing remotely appealing about Quebec or the people that would make me waste my time and money going there.

Well, then those specific people were assholes.

There aren't any asshole in Vancouver, or wherever you live?

So, yeah. Don't use that experience as a pretext to be intolerant.

If I stopped traveling every time I came across an asshole, I wouldn't have been to the many places I have.

It happened multiple times with multiple people in multiple businesses. It wasn't isolated. Sure there are assholes everywhere - I've been called one myself - but Quebec seems to have an abundance of them that really don't like English speaking Canadians. In turn, I don't have much time for French speaking ones. Saying I have no desire to go to a place I've never felt welcomed has nothing to do with intolerance, next you'll be calling me racist again. When people have a bad experience or don't enjoy being somewhere, the smart ones make a choice not to return. Call me a genius

I'm not your buddy and I never contradicted myself. Do you hang around people who annoy the fuck out of you? How about white supremacists? Why not? Exclusion is an expression of intolerance, after all. I'm not sure where in the fuck you came up with the idea that I should love everyone, or even like them. I don't like the culture in Quebec, so I stay away. I don't like the fakeness of religion so I avoid that, too. I don't like the arrogance of doctors so I don't hang out with them either. There is nothing wrong with 'excluding' anyone or any group because you have nothing in common with them, that's why I exclude you from my list of people I can tolerate. I'm not out there committing or advocating any crimes against Quebecer's nor am I trying to persuade others to think the way I do. I'm entitled to my own opinion and if you don't like it, it's you that should get help.

I'm curious. Is Quebec Canada's version of America's Deep South? Sure sounds like it...
