Timbergrow COB lights

I have been using Timbergrows 3VL COB fixtures for about 2 months now. I started with 1 fixuture, then hung the 2nd 3 weeks later. I have to say, money well spent. These have met and exceeded my expectations. I have attached a couple pics of how well the lights work. I added a couple of blurple LED as side lighting a couple days ago. Nice. how high above plants are you running light ? watts?

Be careful running those at 100% brightness. I recently picked up a very similar unit from them and have had reflectors and COB holders burn and melt. Since then, I've been running it at about 80% and removed the reflectors. I have yet to contact Timber about the issue. Just a heads up. Maybe it's just my unit, maybe not.

That's a defective unit then. I would he contacting them for a replacement. That's dangerous. That literally could start a fire.

I took those off right after I took that photo actually. I misread their recommendation that they should be used with more of an open room set up and not inside of a tent.

Could have bad seating/paste on the heat sink. Yea call them up

Yeah I'd be at the very least emailing them. They should atleast replace the melted parts. I mean what wouldve happened if you were doing a 24/0 veg. And you went outta town for 2 or 3 days. Theres lots of people that dont check their gardens every day. I for one. But anyway back to what i meaning. If you didnt notice the melting. And you were on a 24/0 veg schedule. And they kept melting easily couldve been a fire. And if they sold as a kit. All parts should be rated together. They dont send you a larger driver or super small driver. They send you one that goes with it. And they shouldnt put products together in a kit that cant handle the other parts. I'm not downing timber either. Bc they make n sell badass lights. Maybe it's a defect and they just dont know yet. Like the new hlg96 boards has a bad batch that are leaking between the pcb and the heatsink. They are sending people replacements I believe. But I would atleast email them to let them know.

Yea it’s reflective insulation padding I found at home depot. I’m using it to angle up the light that would otherwise hit the floor. This way it reflects back up on an angle and towards the canopy.

Kinda like cellotex foam board you put on before siding on a house. Probably similar. But that's a good idea. I bet it helps lowers if you dont remove them.
