Hey guys, first grow here and I think I’m seeing some nitrogen deficiency in my month and a half old clones. Repotted into 2 gal pots with ocean forest 2 1/2 weeks ago, feeding megacrop, ph going in is 6.1-6.3. Thanks!
How many times have you fed your plants nutrients since you transplanted 2 1/2 weeks ago?Hey guys, first grow here and I think I’m seeing some nitrogen deficiency in my month and a half old clones. I would suggest water only for a while.2-3 times. Still learning with Megacrop and people will even start seedlings at 1g per gallon every watering which is what I’ve been giving. If it is a toxicity I’m guessing even with the light feed the Ocean forest was too hot. What options do I have without flushing?
Could very well be possible. When I put them in the 2 gallon pots they didn’t wilt for over a week so I didn’t water them, I thought that was strange. Something to consider thank you. You're drying them out too much and salts start to build up. Now when you water/feed those salts dilute in the water and burn root tips.
Thanks man. It’s fun, I love learning to grow. I hate asking for help, glad I did though otherwise I probably would have increased feeding, this little bit of advice alone probably saved this entire tent.Atta boy![]()

ApfelStrudel...your plants look good. Coco and soil are very different types of media and mixing them can get complicated. What % of coco in the mix?
Cheers,
JD
Thanks m8
I'm guessing about 20% and about 20% perlite. Works like a charm as long as those pots are saturated. Also no overwatering issues anymore.
Thanks Apfel,
Sounds like a nice mix. So you never let it dry out completely? Give me an example...pot size and how frequently you water, if you would.
JD
Pots are about 12l (3gal) and I water/feed daily until I see some water comming out the bottom. No real run off. I treat it like coco on this part keeping it wet but feed like soil. No pH-ing just straight tap from seed until about 2 weeks before flower or if they need a feed earlier. 2 weeks before flower I give them 2ml/l biobizz grow, one week before flip 4ml/l if they can take it and 2 weeks in i cut grow back to 2ml and add bloom at 2ml. From there on it depends on how they behave and mostly cut the grow part out and feed bloom at 4-5ml/l, week 4-5 top max is introduced at full strength so the feed all together comes out at about 8ml/l. I also use biobizz heaven if they get cranky, topdress epsom every other week and add mycorrhizae with molasses every 3-4 weeks.
Seeds are started in 1.5l pots and transplanted after about 1-2 months depending on the vigor of the strain.
First...Jordan, I hope you don't mind this little hijack, but I wanted to pick Apfel's brain a bit.
@ApfelStrudel ...thanks man. Nice reply. You've given me a few things to think about. 9 plants in a square meter is way dense...but the plants look great. Nicely done. I'll PM you if I need more info on your approach.
Cheers guys,
JD
