trump's wall is more important than poor kids getting food

Bitching about people starving to death after 2 weeks of a partial government shutdown is, especially when there are cases of soup waiting for poor kids at their local food bank.
I see. So you just get all angry and shit when you hear of an act of kindness.

You do realize that the phrase "virtue signalling" is a term that is used as propaganda to falsely portray acts of kindness as some sort of degenerate narcissistic act, don't you? It was coined in 2015 and regularly used by right wing assholes who have no valid reason to hate on people who do something that benefits others and not themselves. You diminish yourself by putting those words in your mouth.

Bitching benefits others? You must be a runner up for the Nobel peace prize.

Dude,

Shrubber said he took five cases of food to a food bank. You got all hysterical and accused him of somehow lording his generosity over you. That's what "virtue signalling" means in right wing parlance.

I point out to you that projecting your own miserly meanness as virtue to diminish the kind acts of others is insane, backwards and false. Also very common among today's crop of right wing Trumpets.

learn to read, you've jumped a few posts. He proved himself wrong. How will poor kids starve to death when there are generous people donating cases of food? The only one drumming up hysteria is OP

“Virtue signaling” is a neo nazi term because they can’t understand why a human would want to be nice to another human so they presuppose that the person doing the good thing is only doing a good thing because they are looking for recognition from others

It kinda exposes what shitty, horrible people they are

So, let's get back to this term you used -- virtue signalling. It stinks to high heaven. Much like other statements commonly used by Trump and his minions.

The term is used to accuse another person of lording their generosity over others in a degenerate narcissistic way. It is a logical fallacy and used to diminish the argument of others without providing a rational argument. It is effective but also completely wrong. It's fucked up way to win an argument without making any real point. Especially when the retort is given to somebody whose only transgression was to give food to a food bank. In the larger picture, using that term to aggrandize the act of taking away government funding for food insecure families is insane, backwards and false.

His transgression was trying to create a bait thread when he damn well knew people are donating food to the hungry, him included, only in hopes of drumming up hysteria to promote an agenda.

Why? There are already generous individuals donating food to the hungry.
His transgression was trying to create a bait thread when he damn well knew people are donating food to the hungry, him included, only in hopes of drumming up hysteria to promote an agenda.
You have twice now made the claim that private donations suffice to prevent starvation or perhaps food insecurity. Are private donations sufficient? Is it your claim that they are?

40 million people in this country experience food insecurity. About 60% of them (58.4% as of last year) received SNAP or other government funded food assistance. Presumably, the remaining 16 million were helped by private donations and bravo to that. But really, the entire 40 million people can be adequately fed through private works? Add to that the fact that Trump just dumped all of the 24 million who were depending upon federal assistance for food onto the private charity system without giving them time to prepare.

C'mon man. You aren't that stupid. People are going to go without food because of this action.

Yet you call the concern for these people "virtue signalling". Defending Trump has turned Trumpets like you into mad men.

Things sound pretty dire. I guess you'd better head out and buy a few cases of soup. You'd think a gardening forum would have better ideas than cases of soup and virtue signals. If you're that worried about hungry people why not use your growing skills and time to start community gardens? Growing food goes further than a can of corn. Make convicts repay their debts growing food for the elderly and disabled. There's a plethora of leftist cry babies bitching for strangers they supposedly care so much for, yet few of them do anything about it.

So your answer is: "let them eat cake".

LOL, I should have known.

Too funny that you are now virtue signalling your lack of empathy.

I don't need to virtue signal my feelings on the issue. If people are going to starve due to a partial government shutdown, then they had issues long before Trump was ever in office. It shouldn't take trimming a bloated government for problems to be addressed and real solutions found. If people cared they wouldn't rely on the government to save the unsavory.

They’re not trying to trim anything though, they’re trying to get billions of dollars that they said Mexico would provide

You seem to have lost the thread. If the shut down were over cutting food aid then you'd have a point but it's not. The government shut down is over Trump's desire to spend more money, not to reduce government spending. Could you please explain how the 24 million people that have been cut off from food aid is justified by Congress's unwillingness to fund that wall?

On a side note, lacking empathy is not something to brag about. Just saying, it makes you out to be some sort of sociopath.

I gave a homeless guy some seed corn, now it's up to him.
