Cob lens covers

No, they are not necessary in a tent. You can run the cobs much closer to the canopy with bare cobs
Other opinions may vary.

I like it a lot better without the lenses in my tent.

Lenses aren't used very much in DIY builds anymore. We all bought and had them on at one point, but realized that in a tent, it's better without. And for applications where it'd be useful like say a bunch of 100w cobs used high up in an open area, there are other options like the Elite96 V2 HLG board that make much more sense.

i have had light refraction from those thick china glass lenses burn my eye ball...
the scar healed eventually but it sucked and was concerning

thatsaid..i like panels too but cobs are awesome

All of the lights....get uv glasses and wear them. It will damage your eyes like staring at the sun and the reflective nature of the tent makes it come from everywhere.

I used to say i went south on vacation but i am just OCD about checking my tent.

Theres no UV in LED fixtures.

They have enough at the top end of UV (under 400) to cause you to have eye damage.

I run 315 CMH as well so it is just second nature.

They are still bright as fuck and wear your glasses.
