Once and for all.. L.E.D or H.I.D ??!

Many superior intellects now grow using kickass COBs and Boards!:-P
No superior intellectual repeats the same sentence a million times here, i can write that in large multicoloure crayon if you are having a hard time understanding this one simple point :-)

Science destroyed their claims, their recent run a hps in cold country and led in a hot one is just a rehash of their old claims that led light made no heat and crap.

Merely i could run any light in any country and these fools are amature tools with no point or good info :-)
Awesome I love science. Link up some stuff that you have read or think people should read. I would rather know facts. Share the knowledge!

The part on ppfd that cites its flaws, can just google that, the part wherecno one knows what a perfect spectrum is, can just google that one too as well as where hps has a fuller spectrum than led. Can go as far as the problem of cmh having too wide a spectrum and is that better than the less wide hps.

I dont need to link you can just jump in but if you arrive at led sites just back away quick.

I mean this all use to get discussed but for some reason were all too pre occupied with who runs the best light to sink back to the basics of science.

:-)

I typed in ppfd flaws and nothing scientific really came up (well something from a grow light company called excite but that’s basically bro science)

I am serious I can’t find anything good. Help me out. I want to read what you’re reading. You see to be on the ball with this stuff.

I'd put my money on a superior intellect that grows with only decent lighting over a dumbass that has kickass lighting, all day every day.
You say that like it isn't a rational thing to do, I'd side bet you that the odds are shit ;p.

I t has been noted that there is considerable misunderstanding over the effect of light quality on plant growth. Many manufacturers claim significantly increased plant growth due to light quality (high YPF). The YPF curve indicates that orange and red photons between 600 and 630 nm can result in 20 to 30% more photosynthesis than blue or cyan photons between 400 and 540 nm.[9]
[10]
But the YPF curve was developed from short-term measurements made on single leaves in low light. More recent longer-term studies with whole plants in higher light indicate that light quality may have a smaller effect on plant growth rate than light quantity. Blue light, while not delivering as many photons per joule, encourages leaf growth and affects other outcomes.[9]
[11] "

Wiki is a good place to start, id say discussion here also but trust me thats freaking futile.

Obviously i dont make claims wbout all three lights spectrums and efficiency without hard science backing me up.

The green light debate should be a fun search too :-)

Did you read the conclusions to that study? That one was pretty good too.

Based on the above discussion, RB-LED lighting could potentially play a major role in vegetable production since it produces less heat and uses less energy, than HPS lamps. The findings of this study could be used in vertical farming systems to achieve the highest productivity of vegetable crops suchas B. alboglabra within the shortest growth cycle, with reduced energy consumption.

Yes and the bit where hps is better suited for crops bigger than a chinese lettuce or whatever it was.

The study proves thextrolls herecomit a whole load of stuff "that and it actualky quotes wikis part i pastedd" - well i suppose wiki copied it being a reference but ya.

I dont care what the best light is, i simply discuss, a troll will have it the other way :-)

No you misunderstand....this is exactly what these threads should be about...digging in data...showing people how we come to our conclusions...showing what we are basing our opinions on...people may not agree but it’s better than saying...leds are better than hid or cmh. At least this way we can all look at the same data...we may come to different conclusions but we can base it off of a good base we all share.

Edit....I also don’t see that part about the hps and larger crops but I’ll re-read it again more carefully.

Ok, Tool Fanboi. Show your grow. I guarantee you that you've been growing longer than I and I also guarantee I can outgrow you. Post your grow, Tool Fanboi. Put up or shut up.
This isnt a site where we do that machho show off thing to prove some bro science and no one comes here to for that kind of talk.

At no point in this thread will i post pictures unless they are a dist. chart or somthing more relevant to the conversation :-)
