The Skunk we got in the eighties and the Hawaiian. Oh my that was some good stuff. When that Humbolt County Indica hit the scene it was some pure fire. The Hawaiian was a special treat. $10 a gram back then. And the thai sticks and Lebanese Hash. I'll take that over all the fire of today. The tastes are indescribable. Just good. Good times.

I like hybrids of the nineties. Not too much experience with 80s strains. I want to breed with landraces when I finish my pollen chuck project.
When I was young, we got a bag of Mowie Wowie. It was maybe 2g's or an 8th split between five of us. When we finished, I headed over to a friend's house to go to a "party". On my way to my friends, I was seeing images of Roger Rabbit everywhere I looked; couldn't keep my cheesy smile away as cars passed. Get to my friends house and I'm having an anxiety attack (from the herb). I was sweating bullets; sweat all the way thru the small couch pillow I was laying my head on. I cool down and we head to the "party". This party was a youth's church gathering and I wasn't prepared for that. So I nod away on the couch and some one hands me fresh-off-the-stove Hamburger Helper and I TORE IT UP!! lol messed my tongue up for like 2 days.
I ramble on here while high lol. Old strains are great

Look at some of the stuff ACE has if you want landrace strains. They have some real breeding going on. I'm in the USA but have much respect for the European breeders. ACE is the real deal. You can't go wrong with their genetics. Cannabiogen and Sensi as well. Dutch Master also. All have been around for a long time.

Breeders are growing hundreds of plants and taking the strongest to breed, taking the seeds of that and doing the same with a completely different line and breeding those out a load of times... Ad infinity. Cannabis is evolving constantly to be stronger. A bit shit the way og kush is in everything though but how can say...

I'm starting a handful of crosses that I made over the last couple of runs starting on the 1st of March
At this point the only thing I have plans to buy is more La Og Affie from the Cali connection (OG raskal) sometime in late spring or early summer, say what you want about swerve I don't know about any of that but I know that that is damn good smoke, I ran it for a long time before I lost the cut, hope I get another keeper

In my opinion what you've described is exactly why the decline in ganja over the last two or three decades
They may have been "breeding" it, but what were they breeding to accomplish? they bred out the odor in real Skunk#1 so now that weed is gone in favor of what?, making it smell like a friggin mango or something like that, so how's the high? not very potent but it sure smells almost kinda like a mango, Whoopie! :/
.. and now we're how many successive so-called "breeding" programs down the road, now you've got something that's a really strong mango-ish flavor, but it couldn't get a fly high.
Just my two cents but I grew it then and I'm growing it now for what it's worth, good luck

Just depends if your growing for you or for market ,If the answer is the latter do what ever they want .Where i'm at it Hazes .But i keep all mine for me except a few oz that goes to family friends for Juice it cost to do the grow.I would do Franco's lemon Cheese.The best strain i have done in a very long time,If you are like me and like regular grown plants ,Then underground Original Seeds ,UGORG#1 Blues or Disco Biscuit.Auto's Bloody Skunk from Sweet seeds

Also, I've grown multiple ACE seeds strains and always go back for "dank fire" from other breeders. I just love modern hybrids more than old school stuff.

Most of these New strains are just Pheno types of plants they all ready have in the seed stock ,but just re named.Its gone crazy have to agree with the skunk too ,Its lost that nice pungent smell and The high is not has good

Cannabis is like everything it has Trends at the minute or for the past few years its been terps.But still give me Jack Herer from years ago.But Barsley Jack from uk .These clone only cuts are getting lost because most of those growers that had it grew for retail,so they do what people want ,Like hazes .I'm lucky because i still have a Blues cut ,and seeds of that and jack here cross i have done my self.You can still find that Jack Herer in a Pack of Sensi Seeds Jack Herer but you will have to hunt for it .Before terps it was cbd and so on.The plant it self now is prob the best your gonna get it ,but like you say another 10 year and god only knows how strong it will be,But it will in time get maxed out,at a max thc level.Its just like a Room a room when you have been doing it in the same room for years you will find that it will only produce a certain amount,I have tried 6 plants 4 ,But i have found for best results in my room,its two.But everytime i try a new strain i think its the best i have had.But the last job i did Franco's Lemon Cheese ,is some of the Best Herb i have ever smoked.But don't forget everyone has diff levels ,so some will get stoned far easier.But like i said its come a long way,My favorite smoke is the FLC,Followed by Bloody Skunk from Sweet seeds.For Oil it has to be either Northern Lights,or Cannatonic but the higher end 1/1 ratio pheno.But the more thc then perhaps people suffering with Cancer,Will not need Half a k,to cure it.And i think there is no better time for countries that are studying it for medical use than now,The FLC i had tested come in at over 20% 0.5 cbd,0.5 % cbn.Great meds for pain ,Been suffering with really bad pain last two weeks and its the only thing that stops the pain.Those Land Race strains are lovely ,But must admit dude your either buying Shoddy grown hazes or Not doing em right,The hazes i have been growing are better than any i have smoked from any country,And believe me i have traveled the world, on seed hunting Holidays.And they are very nice,But there are haze strains out there atm that just blow them out of the water.And while your in that country say India Pakistan ,you think there the best you have ever had .But its just the Romantic thing you have in your head .You have to take into account seeing it grow in it country of origin,lovely weather the People.But grow it out like i have done at home.And its pretty low grade to whats around now.But the Landrace seeds do need saving for ever,I mostly grow old strains,I was growing hazes 16/17 year ago,ad its only in past 5/6 years that people have caught onto them,in the uk.That's in the smokers world though not the growers.At one point if it was not Blues or Exodus Cheese then you could not move it. And break those strains down and you really left with Skunk # 1 ,just a Pheno that was ultra pungent in smell and a strong smoke.

Done it ,and the nearest you are going to get to Exodus the real Edam,is UGORG#1,Greenhouse do the best Feminized version of Exodus,And if that don't get ya stoned then make Oil from it bro ,That will knock your socks off.The oil i made from the FLC i have just run,is some of the strongest oil i have made.But Greenhouse seeds Exodus blows your nut off.Barneys Blue Cheese is Great strain ,but not the best Producer.I did cookie Kush from Barney's a while back,and found it to taste great .But it was not very strong for a Cookie and Kush cross ,I did expect more from it to be honest.But i have done hundreds of seed runs,over past years,Since i lost the clone only cuts,But lucky enough i have them back now.

Its when you get Older ,you miss those old flavours,Its why i love the Old hand Rubbed hash.But weed wise the new strains are a lot stronger,The Only strain i think has been totally wrecked is Skunk # 1 ,That used to be Super Loud smelling and the taste was just beautiful .But now i'm thinking is that because they was some of the first strains, i smoked of what we now call high grade,That Northern Lights Afgan .But its only going to get stronger .
