Light intensity question for seedlings

These plants are 1 week old today. I've always used t5 for grows, but switched to CMH 315 this time. My question is, I have the light about 30" above them and get 19773 lx on a light meter. To much, not enough? Just trying to get a feel for this light. It seems like these should be a little further along, but maybe I'm impatient?

Lighting is good to go, but they look a little hungry. I know you didn't ask, but I think that's why they are slower than you want.

Hmmmm, I was thinking the soil ( Nector for the gods) would have enough to hold them for a while. I'm planning on transplanting in 5 gal airpots next weekend, and maybe give them a light feeding.

It probably has enough to get them by, but I still think they're hungry.

That's why the veins are close to a white and your leaves are "waffling".

I could be wrong though. Different strains do different shit. Doing good so far so stay with it.

A light feed, probably nothing.
IMO feeding a seedling that small, in an already nutrient rich environment, can lead to significant problems even later in the grow.
My seedlings are in peat pellets and hydroton, they get nothing but tap water until the cotyledon start to fade/curl.

And that's why I would lightly feed it.

Abyhow, I know what you are saying and agree. I just feed when their hungry. I don't mind fat kids lol. They grow tall and lean out.

Hi Buzz,
You asked about lighting. Like you, I formerly used T5-HO but am now using a 250w MH at 24". Works good except if I have a seedling that's struggling...then I move that one to the periphery.

I've been doing various experiments using different media and occasionally get one n a little trouble. Just wanted to clarify that the seedlings that can't tolerate the 250w are already in trouble from another issue.

I use maxi nutes and mix up a small batch at 1/4 strength. Then dilute that 50/50 so first feed is 1/8 strength. None burnt so far...

Thanks for the replies. I've only watered once so far, so I'm going to hang out on adding nutes for a while. Have used FF in the past, but trying the Flora Nova with the Lucas formula after transplant this time.
