I totally agree, surely one of the best threads on RIU. Keeping a thread like this updated is a PITA, especially with RIU's upload times, keep up the good work Schwaggy,it is appreciated. bongsmilie

Thank you @CoB_nUt and @DonBrennon, that means a lot. For every picture you see, there are 20 other versions that didn't make the cut. It's a labor of love and I'm glad to add to the information other growers can use in making decisions about genetics.

If you ever wondered what the hell my avatar picture is from...
Face Time Party Snoozer? Really? ROFL! I wondered about that avatar. Thanks for the smile, I needed one.  :-D

$2.99 Judas Priest vinyl too…a true renaissance man.

I love your choice of genetics, every single one of them. I was really interested in that Chemdog x C99, what did you think? How do you ever decide what to smoke yourself? Got any favorites? I still have never run a chem. You must spend a lot of time trimming.

I also wanted to ask you about running both soil & hydro. Why? Do you ever move plants outside? Your climate would work if so inclined, that is the main reason I have not played with hydro yet but it seem like hydro could be better automated.

Frost on the ground here this morning. Outdoor girls still hanging in.

You’re welcome,

Thanks, this is the first run from seed for the specific pheno of Chemdog x C99 in the picture, and she’s still on the hanger drying. Another pheno that’s been cured and smoked has a nice energetic rush that you feel starting in your chest before spreading.

I have a harder time deciding on seeds to pop than what to smoke. I have about 30 different flower types to choose from on hand, so choosing what to smoke can take awhile sometimes. Usually, the time of day will limit the selection to avoid unscheduled naps or sleepless nights. I try to keep rotating through them evenly, but sometimes I’ll get a crush on something and smoke it heavier. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I usually end my night with Chocolate Mint OG. It just has a way of tapping into a dimmer switch on relaxation and sleepiness, slowly lowering you into a great sleep.

I do spend tons of time trimming. I’ve tried to come up with different grades of trimming and naming specific techniques to pass the time.

I keep plants that will never flower in soil and run the rest through flower in hydro. It is easier for me to keep copies from outgrowing the veg space when they are in soil. Plus, I’d hate to lose my whole library to pump failures or other malfunctions in hydro. I take cuts from my soil moms and veg them on a flood table in 3” net pots. Depending on the strain, they only need about 1-2weeks before hitting a flower table.

I only grow indoor. Good luck on your outdoor plants. Has the P91 cross purpled up more?

Smell: hashy, spicy, earthy, melon
Taste: hashy, spicy, earthy, melon, kush, caramel, ginger, potato skins
Effect: varying degrees of relaxed to couchlock ~1.5-2hrs, a couple 60/40 indicas with headiness ~2hrs
Growing: Stats averaged from 8 phenos out of one pack
Stretch: roughly double to triple initial flowering height
Flowering Time: 60-75 days
Nutes: moderate feeder, some phenos more prone to nitrogen overload

TASTE
Most phenos expressed a hashy, spicy, earthy quality in the taste. This has been an observed consistency with many Bubba Kush hybrids in other experiences. On average, the aroma of the buds faithfully translated in the taste both in exhale and lingering quality after a toke.

An earthy, root quality was seen in a couple phenos expressing as potato skins, ginger, and decaying roots.

The few phenos with a melon note were most closely like a honeydew melon or cantaloupe in profile. One pheno in particular had a burned caramel exhale accompanying the melon note that made for a great flavor.

EFFECT
Most phenos were solidly indica in effect. Some were just a sweeping full body relaxation that allowed for functionality, debilitating couchlock with no hope of accomplishing much more than keeping a seat warm, and a couple with a heady quality that could be daytime options.

I found the few with this heady nuance to be a more developing type of effect, in the sense that the quality of the buzz would change over time. It may begin as a mind storm with some buzzing in the extremities and settle into a more gentle elevated mood after 30 minutes.

Most phenos would be great choices for people seeking muscle relaxation, anti-inflammatory properties, and mood enhancement.

OVERALL
I think the true accomplishment of this cross was the generally consistent range of smoker experience across very different plant morphologies. By this I mean that the smells/tastes/effects/ were pretty consistently expressed in plants of varying stature, flowering time, and growth patterns.

Some phenos would be perfect for SOG method; growing as one main stalk without needing much pruning and staying compact throughout the moderate stretch. One pheno in particular (#10) had one of the most amazing natural structures of a plant I’ve seen expressed without grower training. She had multiple tops that were evenly distributed, narrow leaves to allow light penetration, and great intermodal spacing to allow bud development without the yield suffering. I could see her performing quite well in a SCROG setup.

Jabba’s Stash offers a solid indica smoke giving growers plenty of choice in a plant that can best suit their growing style.

i was away for a bit, glad i saw this. excellent post as usual. mine are about 3 or 4 nodes now about to come out of solo cups soon as i make some room. i am curious to see if any of the f2's match up or if i get totally different expressions. have you heard any feedback or grown out the f2's yourself? i know to expect more diversity and even things leaning heavily to one of the parents

Thanks. I have not grown out the F2, but had plans to hunt for a Bubba leaner in them. I'm eager to see what you find.

ic you sprung for the harness to...smart move

Thanks for taking the time to answer so clearly @Schwaggy P! Your whole process is so well thought out & executed, it's inspiring.

Frost again here last night, raining now. The outdoor girls are surprising me, that purple is fun to watch, but outdoor winter growing is really not worthwhile except for the fun of it. Or seeds.

I am getting more & more interested in indoor now planning a second indoor setup. It never stops. :D

It's no problem at all, thanks for the kind words.

I can imagine dealing with all of that can be a major ass ache.

I think we can all relate to the never ending quest for expansion.
